What a job to remove the particle filters from a 2018 Vivaro van, this is the Vauxhall version not the Peugeot derived one, it’s literally bolted to the back of the engine block😩

Even more so when the fixings snap and need to be drilled out.

All done and washed out, ready to go back together, some jobs are just evil.

180k miles and still going strong though

Another one in and out in quick time.

Peugeot 308 1.5 hdi dropped off Friday afternoon and back with the customer this morning after a chain failure.

Luckily other than the new camshafts and the revised 8mm chain kit and followers all the valve train survived. New timing belt and water pump fitted for peace of mind.

Even gave the engine and complete car a courtesy wash.

A big one recovered in, loss of power and then cut out. Had been waiting most of the day for recovery so when we received the van the battery was flat.

2019 transit 2.0 eco blue with an impressive 230k miles on the clock.

Got the battery charged up and the vehicle started but wouldn’t rev, tick over is all we had.

No diagnostic codes stored, checked the air filter very oily, removed an intercooler pipe and full of oil, checked the turbo and this had failed. A new turbo, gasket set feed and return pipe, and the oil and filter replaced. we are good to go again.

Had to give the engine bay a clean, looks like 30k miles now and back out to work. Not bad considering the van wasn’t here less than 24hrs, managed to get it in and done.

2019 bmw booked in for diag on dpf issues.

Well originally it was a phone call asking for costs to clean the particle filter that’s all I need. We now don’t clean particle filters until we have diagnosed the car, this is to make sure that it actually needs doing and also believe it or not saves the customer money on repairs not needed.

Turns out this one had a faulty fuel pressure sensor and the sensor has tracked the diesel
From the sensor and filled up the engine Ecu.

All faults in the system are now due to a damaged wiring loom and the Ecu not happy taking a swim.

The dpf didn’t need any work on the plus side.

Hopefully bmw will help with this one. Turning into a common issue

Been a while since an update. Have been bombarded with work so no time to get some photos etc.

Here’s a good one for you all.

Nissan qashqui in for lack of power and a strange noise. Turns out the turbo feed pipe was blocked, the heat then melted part of the oil return pipe and the car was using what was left of the return pipe as an exhaust.

A massive strip down later managed to get the turbo removed. As it’s part of the manifold the subframe had to be dropped to make space to get it out.

All going back together now with new gaskets and a fresh oil change.

When you’re close to being finished but it’s home time, need to hear this thing start. All four injectors removed, clamping bolts drilled out and all up and running. the next job
