This week we tried again to get the SLK started but there is quite a lot of electronics in the car and having 2 months of rain every day when it was outside didn’t help … so found the 2 parts of the
MBSS which are coded as a pair and found the internal battery (obviously not designed to be still here at at 28 years old) had leaked all inside so that was totally unrepairable… searching our network managed to get a NOS kit still in the box.. of course the battery inside was dead… so 2 days gentle charging increasing the voltage made it recover so able to fit the new pair to the car and once a bad earth was cleaned and copper grease applied we managed to start the car again
