Cars are only as good as the person who’s built them, and while 1.8T swapped MR2s are very easy to build if you follow the instructions and have common sense, ignore that and they can be no fun, poor performing, unreliable, and a fire hazard, and unfortunately the car in the latest video, which in spec alone is an absolutely fantastic car, was all of them.

Worst thing is, the company who did it blamed us 🤦😂 If you’re unsure of something, ask us!

It’s a phrase that’s existed in one form or other for centuries in every language on the planet, but “A bad mechanic always blames his tools” 🤷

It’s one thing us saying how good these swaps are, but it’s nice when you see the reaction of someone totally impartial.

This is a basic 280bhp stock engine/turbo setup, but still mega quick in a car this light.

As an added bonus in this video, lots of cool turbo noises, something that’s impossible to miss with these swaps lol.

While most the weekend was taken up by family duties, Stav found some free time Sunday afternoon to do a few things to both of his MR2s, with some fantastic condition headlights from J-Spec transforming the front of his insane 1.8T swapped one, and he finally fitted the first upgrade to his silver one (which will also be getting a 1.8T of course), some carbon Sparco bucket seats.

Now it’s Monday, so back to working on customer cars!

We get quite a few owners of 2ZZ swapped MR2s buying our swap kits for various reasons, disappointed with the performance of the 2ZZ, reliability issues, or just wanting something different, and we’re currently swapping a customer car from a tired 2ZZ to a 1.8T as a drive-in drive-out swap.
