🌧️ FINALLY… SOME RAIN! 🌧️

After what feels like weeks of sunshine, heat and dry roads, it looks like we’re finally going to get a proper dose of British weather! ☔

But when the rain arrives, it’s worth remembering that wet roads can dramatically change how your car behaves.

🚗 A few wet-weather driving reminders:

🔹 Give yourself more stopping distance – stopping distances can be at least twice as long on wet roads.

🔹 Check your tyres – good tread and correct tyre pressures are essential for maintaining grip and helping disperse water.

🔹 Watch out for standing water – hitting deep puddles at speed can cause aquaplaning and a sudden loss of steering control.

🔹 Slow down when visibility drops – spray from other vehicles can make it surprisingly difficult to see what's ahead.

🔹 Check your wipers – if they're leaving streaks, juddering or struggling to clear the screen, it's probably time for a replacement.

🔹 Check your lights – rain and spray make it harder for other road users to see you, particularly in heavy downpours.

And one particularly important point after a long dry spell: the first rain can make roads especially slippery, as oils and other deposits on the road surface mix with the water.

So enjoy the rain… your garden might desperately need it, but your car still needs a little extra care! 😄🌧️
