ivered in one week blocks, spread over the academic year at one of Jaguar Land Rover's dedicated Training Academy's. Accommodation is arranged and ahead of each block of training. The cost of Accommodation is paid for by the employer. What's involved in the Retailer Apprentice Programme? Apprenticeships offered to employees in the Jaguar dealer network are taken in two stages. The first, at level 2 over a 2 year period and the second at Level 3 over 12 months. Each level of apprenticeship consists of two qualifications, a Technical Certificate (VRQ) which provides the apprentice with the knowledge and skills for their chosen route, and an NVQ which consists of knowledge and competence units. If you are successful in your application, assessment and interview and are offered an apprenticeship, you will be employed by and work at the retailer that you are employed by. Where will I train?
◾In the workplace, through local mentoring and regular coaching visits by one of Jaguar Land Rover’s Academy representatives
◾In one of jaguar Land Rover’s Academies (Leamington, Liverpool or Glasgow) undertaking block release hands-on training with other Service Technicians
◾Virtual classroom sessions and E-learning through Jaguar Land Rover’s Learning Management system
◾Teambuilding and Communication modules including extra curricula visits to industry suppliers
Does the Apprentice Scheme lead onto a permanent job with the retailer? As with most organisations, this is a possibility, but its not guaranteed. Of course, if you work hard and show your employer you have the talent and skills required for the business, you will give yourself the best chance possible. On average, the programmes are between 26 and 36 months long dependant on the programme you are enrolled onto. If you have existing qualifications that count towards the apprenticeship requirements, it may be possible to shorten your individual learning programme via prior learning accreditation. Are there any pre-requisites? You will need to provide evidence that you have or expect to gain the grades and qualifications required, and bring this with you if you are invited to the retailer for assessment/interview. If you have lost this documentation, then you should get some form of proof from your awarding body.
