Join our team!

Alverstone Autos is a leading local independent garage, and we have a vacancy for a vehicle technician. Ideally the candidate will also be an MOT tester, but training for this can be arranged.

You should have at least 5 years experience in a garage environment, and be capable of producing high quality work. You will be working as part of a team, but must also be able to work on your own initiative in a busy, friendly environment.

Good diagnostic skills will be an advantage, although training can also be given.

In return you can expect a competitive salary package, good working conditions and training as required. If you want to develop yourself further in the motor trade, this could be the opportunity you’ve been waiting for!

Your tyres are the only part of your car actually touching the road, so it's worth checking them regularly.

Here's what to look out for: a tread depth of at least 1.6mm (the legal minimum), even wear across the tyre, no cuts, bulges or embedded objects, and correct pressure, checked when the tyres are cold.

Uneven wear can be a sign of a wider issue with suspension or alignment, so if you're not sure, pop in and we'll take a look.
