Brian and his Beautiful 1953 Longstroke 500cc Manx Norton, freshly fitted with a Hand Made megaphone, which has been fabricated to a Later Manx Norton design, with a Reverse Cone, the same as the Megaphone that was fitted to 1960s 350cc Bikes. 👌😍 Ready for Goodwood 🏁

My first ever attempt at Welding Titanium!! 😲
Something ive wanted to try for a long time, and ive never had the opportunity.. especially with the high price to buy the Titanium in the first place, I didnt want to pay out a load of money to throw it in the bin once i'd finished practicing.

So when our old family friend and famous classic racer, said he would leave me his old pipe to practice on, i decided that before I attend the next month, where I may be able to pick up some work, sand bending Titanium pipes for customers muscle bikes. I better have a go at trying to weld it,

And this is the result of my first ever attempt.. which includes three practice beads, before i moved on to repairing the huge crack it. Not a bad job at all. 😁👍

The exhaust is definitely different...
But I like it alot, and its going to do exactly what it was designed to do, which is to make alot of noise. 😁👍

This bike is fitted with a 500cc Longstroke engine, and has nearly all the correct factory parts.. So i'm very suprised that no one has pulled me up, on the megaphone that ive recently made for it. As its neither for the right year or the right capacity.... maybe all the clever clogs are having the day off... 😂👍

I did supply him with a original hanging bracket for it though, which is a rather rare item, which I dont think anyone sells... its a mounting bracket that goes from the footpeg to the megaphone, and its one of a few left over from when my Grandad bought all the Manx Stock (name and rights) off John Tickle in the late 1970s.

If anyone is in the need for a proper works style megaphone from any year or capacity, let me know, as I have patterns for all of them... and I will also look at getting some more hanging brackets laser cut, using the original ones as a template.

Starting up Brian's 1953 Norton 🔥
A Longstroke 500cc Racing Manx 🏁

Which was easily the loudest bike weve ever fired up in the work shop. And in my opinion the best sounding motorcycle that has ever been made. 👌

Its the sound of my Childhood, with my dad racing Classic 500 and 350 bikes, and the sound of a 500 manx on an open Megaphone is definitely one of my favourite noises, I could listen to it for ever..

But maybe not in the the workshop,
where my ears started to hurt!! 😂👍

Wait until the end to see the look on Brian's face, to see another happy customer. And you can tell the joy I get from making these 'start-up' videos, as i'm always laughing at the end of them.
A dream job 😊
