Following on from our "wrong tool" series - here is the winning story from a follower who'd rather remain anonymous. 🤣

Last weekend I decided to hang a small picture frame in my hallway. Easy job, right? I found the nail… found the hook… but apparently every actual tool I own had vanished into another dimension.

Instead of doing the sensible thing and going to get a hammer from the garage, I tried to “just make do” with the nearest heavy object: a "sturdy" boot.

There I was, holding a nail to the wall and whacking it with the heel like some kind of chaotic handyman. After three solid hits, the nail was bent, the wall had a scuff mark shaped exactly like my boot tread, and I was 100% sure I’d invented a new kind of home-improvement embarrassment.

I eventually gave up, walked to the garage, and grabbed a hammer—which worked, shockingly, exactly as intended.

Moral of the story: shortcuts are fun until your wall looks like it lost a fight with a line dancer.
