1964 Morris Mini Van – Original Period Four-Seat Conversion
An unrestored 1964 Morris Mini Van featuring a period four-seat conversion carried out when new.
The van has remained in the same family, passing from mother to father and subsequently to their son.
The conversion includes large rear side windows, an original folding rear bench with brown vinyl upholstery matching the front seats, and a relocated battery and spare wheel. The van retains its original load floor.
It also features the distinctive smooth, unfluted roof with a roof ventilator.
These conversions were popular in the 1960s, when Mini Vans were considerably cheaper than the equivalent passenger models due to Purchase Tax regulations.
The van remains unrestored and retains its original interior and period conversion fittings. It is fitted with a later 998cc A-series engine.
Recently fitted with new brakes and fully serviced.
An interesting and unusual surviving example of a period-converted Mk1 Mini Van, with long-term ownership in one family.
