The North’s premier celebration of the flat-six.

​What an unbelievable turnout for RENNTAG 2026. From rare classics to the latest performance models, Sunday was the perfect reminder of why the Porsche community is unmatched.

​Seeing how much this event has grown since last year is incredible. It has quickly cemented itself as a must-attend date on the calendar, bringing together passionate owners and enthusiasts from all corners of the UK.

​We only came down as fans this year, but we’re already planning to get properly involved next year with a few of our own cars in tow.

​These photos are just a small taste of the day.

​A massive thank you to the team at Wheels Up North for organising an excellent event. It was wonderful to chat to a lot of people, especially some of our existing customers who also attended the event.

Incredible day out at Leighton Hall for Renntag today. absolutely smashed it. The turnout and the standard of cars on the lawn was unbelievable.

It didn’t take long to secure a sale on this 718 GTS 😍

Mind you, it’s not hard to see why with a spec like this, nice low mileage, a manual gearbox and finished in such a stunning colour.

We would like to take this opportunity to welcome Toby and Lorna to the Porsche family and also thank them for entrusting us with such a special purchase, their first Porsche!

This has been quite the journey for Toby and Lorna, with the important decisions made and many cars viewed, this purchase was actually carried out remotely, requiring a lot of trust on their part, having never dealt with RPM before.

Where would you send your 996 GT3 RS when a fault occurs that leaves the main dealers scratching their heads?

An interesting question, and one we are about to answer...
​
This rare GT3 RS had originally been taken to an Official Porsche Centre for a routine service, but a non-start issue developed before it could be returned to the customer. When the main dealer diagnostics didn't yield a definitive answer, leaving their technical team at a loss, the car was recovered to us here at RPM Specialist Cars to investigate.
​
While we started our initial assessment using our own diagnostic laptops to check for stored faults and live data, what was really required was a dose of good old-fashioned mechanical ability and experience.
​
Having been established as an independent Porsche specialist for over 22 years, our team relies on decades of combined experience covering all models, both new and old.

​To get any petrol car running, you need two fundamental things: a solid spark and a good supply of fuel. Believe it or not, it was the fuel that this one was missing (but plenty in the tank). With a little further old-school troubleshooting, the culprit was traced to a faulty fuel pump.
​
An OEM replacement was ordered directly from Germany, installed by our technicians, and this legendary Mezger engine is now running perfectly again.
​
Modern diagnostic software can be a brilliant tool, but it works best when combined with mechanical intuition and genuine workshop experience.
