Short notice but the garage will be closed next week.
Well, to say i’m scunnered is the biggest understatement of the year! What an awful time to be in business.
Expectations, entitlement and demands seem to be at an all time high. Every reputable garage right now is stowed out the door and booked up for weeks in advance, with staff and owners morale at an all time low, almost to breaking point.
The abuse, sh*tty comments and non payers just now is absolutely diabolical, some people have lost the simple ability to be polite and pay when the jobs are complete. Patience appears to be the biggest issue, we try and squeeze jobs in as well as the jobs that have already been booked in for weeks to keep everyone happy but it ends up biting us in the ass, a simple job that should take an hour then turns into a nightmare……the phones ringing….people come in……sales reps are nipping yer head for a sale…..debt collecting cause some folk think its funny not to pay 🤨 the list is endless! 🤯(names will be going in the window and video footage will be shown of the verbal abuse!) you’d be amazed at who loses the plot in a garage then fabricates stories 👀😂
In an ideal scenario you book your vehicle in, in advance and turn up on the specified day at the specified time, take note of any signs and listen carefully to instructions, mainly “I’LL PHONE YOU WHEN ITS READY TO PICK UP” and by ready that means once the job is finished and all the paperwork is done! Not when you’ve checked online and see the mot has been logged! Or getting the whole family to phone for updates 🙄 this just takes up unnecessary time out of the day. Even the answering machine has instructions because i can’t be everywhere at the same time unfortunately…so, just leave a message. If you feel the need to be a serial caller, step away from the phone, go and have a cuppy because phoning constantly just drains the little motivation that’s left.
Anyway, thanks to everyone that does understand how a business operates, works with me and pays on time 👍🏾
