🚗 5 THINGS TO REMEMBER ON DRIVING TEST DAY! 🍀

Test day is finally here! Feeling nervous? That’s completely normal. Take a deep breath and remember these 5 things:

1️⃣ DON’T RUSH
Take your time and make safe, well-considered decisions.

2️⃣ USE YOUR MIRRORS 👀
Stay aware of what’s happening around you, especially before changing speed or direction.

3️⃣ LOOK AHEAD 🔎
Read the road early. Look for signs, road markings, hazards and changes in traffic.

4️⃣ MADE A MISTAKE? KEEP GOING! 💪
Don’t panic or assume you’ve failed. Reset, refocus and concentrate on the next situation.

5️⃣ TRUST YOUR TRAINING ❤️
You’ve practised for this. Drive as you normally would and show the examiner that you can drive safely and independently.

🍀 Remember: you don’t have to be perfect — you just need to demonstrate safe driving.

🚘 Good luck to all our learners taking their tests! We’re rooting for you! 🙌

🚗💡 LEARNER DRIVER TIP!

🛞 DON’T DRY STEER!

What is dry steering?
It’s turning the steering wheel while your car is completely stationary.

❌ It can put extra strain on your tyres and steering components.
❌ It can cause unnecessary tyre wear.
❌ It can make your steering less smooth.

✅ Instead, let the car creep very slowly while you steer.

Remember:

🐢 SLOW CAR + 👐 SMOOTH STEERING = 👍 BETTER CONTROL

This is especially useful when doing manoeuvres such as parking, bay parking or pulling up at the kerb.

💬 Top tip: You don’t need to rush your steering. Take your time, keep the car under control and make your steering inputs smooth.

Small habits make better drivers! 🚘

🦶 THE SECRET? CLUTCH CONTROL TAKES PRACTICE!

Try thinking of the clutch like a dimmer switch 💡 — smooth and gradual, not ON/OFF.

👉 Clutch fully down
👉 Select 1st gear
👉 Slowly lift the clutch
👉 Feel for the biting point
👉 Hold it steady
👉 Add a little gas
👉 Slowly release the clutch as the car moves

🎯 Your goal isn’t speed — it’s SMOOTHNESS!

And remember…

🚦 Stalled? Don’t panic.
😅 Car je**ed? It happens.
🦶 Leg shaking? Totally normal!
😂 Instructor grabbed the imaginary brake? We’ve all been there!

Every experienced driver was once a learner who had to figure this out too.

Keep practising. Keep calm. Keep believing in yourself. ❤️

One day you’ll pull away smoothly without even thinking about it… and wonder what all the fuss was about! 🚗💨

👇 Learners — be honest… how many times have you stalled? 😂

Learning to drive can feel overwhelming at first, but remember: you’re not expected to be perfect straight away! 🙌

Here are a few tips to help you become a safer, more confident driver:

👀 1. Look well ahead
Don’t just focus on the car in front. Look further down the road so you have more time to spot hazards, changes in traffic and road signs.

🪞 2. Make your observations obvious
Use your mirrors regularly and make sure you’re actually seeing what’s around you — not just going through the motions.

⏱️ 3. Give yourself time
If you’re unsure, slow down. You don’t have to rush decisions. More time = more information = better decisions.

🛑 4. Plan your stops
Try to avoid harsh braking by looking ahead and anticipating what’s happening in front of you.

↔️ 5. Keep a safe following distance
Don’t drive too close to the vehicle ahead. Leave yourself enough space to react if they suddenly brake.

🔄 6. Don’t forget your blind spots
Before moving off, changing lanes or manoeuvring, make sure you’ve checked everywhere you need to — including those areas your mirrors can’t show you.

🧠 7. Talk yourself through situations
Ask yourself: “What can I see? What might happen next? What am I going to do?”
This helps develop your hazard awareness and decision-making skills.

😌 8. Don’t panic when you make a mistake
Everyone makes mistakes while learning. The important thing is understanding what happened and learning from it.

📚 9. Practise between lessons
If you have a suitable accompanying driver and the right insurance, practise the skills you’ve learned with your instructor. Consistent practice can make a huge difference.

💪 10. Confidence comes from experience
You don’t need to feel confident before you start driving well. Confidence grows as you gain experience and make good decisions.

⭐ Remember: Safe driving isn’t about being the fastest or most confident person on the road. It’s about being observant, patient, predictable and in control.

Keep practising — you’ve got this! 🚗💨
