This MINI Cooper D presents beautifully and offers a combined fuel economy figure of 70+ MPG (I drive one of these and can confirm this possible). It also benefits from being a £20 tax band car. The car’s insurance group is 16E completing this car as a very cost efficient vehicle.

This particular example comes generously specified and in good condition all round. It does have the usual age related marks you expect of this age and a keen eye may spot that the bonnet seems to have been painted in its life (only noticeable close up) but at this price point, I think it’s a bargain.

*Unbeknownst to us, this vehicle has a Category N insurance marker from June 2021* This was not known to us and we do not sell categorised cars as a rule, hence the price. We do checks on all vehicles usually but somehow, the one time one slips the net, we get stung! Our loss is your gain however, as you can now enter MINI Cooper D ownership as a fraction of retail cost! The R52 MINI Cooper Convertible offers all of the fun and character of the hatchback model with the added benefit of the fully automated folding roof. To offer this roof there has been a slight sacrifice in boot space and so this isn’t the ideal car for a family of 4s “big shop” but it’s more than practical enough as a fun daily commuter or weekend car.

The R53 MINI Cooper S offers outstanding straight line performance with ‘proper’ hot hatch handling. The car is light on its feet with excellent grip, feelsome steering and powerful stopping power. As a model over 20 years old, the Cooper S is potentially one of the last ‘modern’ cars to put driver enjoyment first.

Our example is the best unrestored example we have seen. It does have a few marks, just one key and the wheels may benefit a refurbishment. However, mechanically, it is far supreme to what its age may suggest. In fact, its bodywork is also in far better shape than a 20 year old car has any right to be!

The power train, suspension and brakes are all excellent. The engine is eager and punchy, the gearbox selects gears beautifully and the suspension and brakes feel almost factory fresh. It will come freshly serviced and with 2 new rear wheel bearings.

A pre-LCI supercharged Cooper S with brilliant service history, huge spec (including pan roof) and low mileage for it’s age. Same owner for 8 years! Only issues we know to are a slight sag in roof lining and a temperamental key!
If she goes up for sale, her plate will be coming off and will be available separately.
