Hi folks, so i had my first wetbelt job in the garage this week. I have tended to shy away from wetbelt jobs as I just thought they were to faffy and intricate but they are actually not to bad just time consuming.
This vehicle came in last week for a engine service as the oil light kept coming on. Once I checked it over I suspected that the wetbelt was starting to deteriorate at only 38k 😲 at this mileage the last thing you would be expecting to change would be the timing belt but unfortunately wetbelt engines if not serviced at the right times using the right grade of oil are failing much more often nowadays.
If you have a wetbelt vehicle and are not sure if its in need of replaced book it in to get checked.

Hi Folks its been a while since I have posted anything on my page but not to worry as there is going to we weekly post going up soon as I have an assistant started on Monday answering the phone and posting videos and pics on my page!

The reason for this post is im looking to hire a mechanic to cover a variation of jobs in the garage, experience in this environment is a must but I will consider the right person with less experience if they are willing to learn. Must be punctual and be willing to put a shift in.

Now here is something a little different, this mint Royal Sabre kit car has came in to have an upgrade to the cooling system. The old viscous fan was no longer keeping the old girl cool enough when stationary in traffic so a nice new electric fan was sourced by the customer and I fitted it. It's clear to say it's kept running nice and warm now without the risk of overheating 😉 this vehicle is also going up for sale so if anyone on my page is interested give me a shout 👍

Had this wee beauty of an RS3 in the garage the other week for a straight forward waterpump replacement 😀 yes it would be clear to say nothing was straightforward as the engine needs lifted off its mounts, shunted to the right and lifted at the left hand side to get the waterpump out and new one in. No issues though and the car was returned to a very happy customer the very next day.
