At Gray’s we take our social responsibility to the local and wider community very seriously. Over the past year or so, we have been investing in reducing our impact on the local environment across a range of initiatives.
In that time we have:
👉 replaced all our outdated fluorescent lighting with highly efficient LED units
👉 replaced our oil fired central heating with an air source heat pump
👉 installed solar panels and battery storage which have generated more local energy than we’ve used over the past 365 days
👉 installed a rain water harvesting system so that our toilets and car washing activities don’t use fresh, treated water
👉 installed an EV charger to charge our own vehicles, as well as those EVs left by our customers while they are in our care
👉 replaced our courtesy car with an electric vehicle that uses energy that we generate to drive around the local area; truly zero tail pipe emissions
👉 replaced our diesel van with an electric van for local and regional use e.g. collecting urgent parts from Inverness, collecting cars, even lending it to customers
These activities alone have reduced our CO2 emissions by more than 12.5 tons, or the equivalent of having planted 207 trees.
For those of you with EVs, please feel free to come to discuss your needs with us. We have two EV qualified technicians who have worked on a range of different vehicles. This is in addition to their already well respected capabilities for fixing anything with a conventional engine.
If you have any questions or just want to come see the technology, please feel free to call me to arrange to see it for yourself.
Oh and one final thing, the guys also have smart new uniforms to boot 😎
