We were recently approached by a local care home looking for a solution to reduce excessive heat and glare from the sun within their dining area, helping to create a more comfortable environment for residents and staff alike.
After discussing their requirements, we installed a medium 30% solar control window film, carefully selected to reduce glare and help manage solar heat gain while still allowing plenty of natural light into the room.
This project required special consideration due to many of the residents living with dementia. Traditional reflective films, which are often used for heat and glare reduction, were not suitable as mirrored surfaces can cause confusion and distress for some residents. Instead, we chose a non-reflective solution that delivered the performance needed while remaining appropriate for the environment.
✔ Reduced glare within the dining area
✔ Improved comfort for residents and staff
✔ Reduced solar heat build-up
✔ Dementia-friendly non-reflective finish
✔ Maintained natural light levels
Every installation is different, and this project highlights the importance of selecting the right product for the people using the space, not just the building itself.
We're proud to have helped create a more comfortable dining environment for the residents and thank the care home for trusting us with this important project. 💙
