is well, A driving license is a gained privilege through a little hard work and learning. It is not a right to have one and can be taken away at any time if you do not drive within the rules that we ALL have to follow. So please drive within the rules of the Highway code, but be observant enough to be able to bend the rules to deal with those "out of the ordinary issues"

THE REALITY OF LEARNING TO DRIVE. This comes from an instructor, but counts for us all in the driving profession and continued learning.

Before anyone makes the decision to learn to drive, please consider the following points that I’m about to make.

1; You are learning to operate a machine that if used or operated incorrectly, or irresponsibly, can result in serious injury or, even worse, fatality.

2; Your learning process will not be simple, quick or cheap. The co-ordination and spatial awareness takes time to develop - particularly to a point where it becomes second nature.

3; As the driver you are legally responsible for the vehicle, yourself and equally responsible for the safety of others. Being a learner driver doesn’t excuse you of these responsibilities - nor does it make you immune from prosecution if laws are broken.

4; The importance of knowing your subject matter should not be underestimated or taken lightly. The theory test isn’t just an obstacle on the way to your practical test.Revise thoroughly and aim to pass with the highest score possible. The more knowledge that you learn and retain can potentially make a massive difference to all round safety.

5: We are all individuals who learn at different rates. Friends or family may have reached the standard more quickly, but don’t treat the learning process as a competition. Equally, guard against becoming demoralised if you’re taking longer to learn than you thought. Don’t let pride get in the way of safety.

6; Always listen to your Instructor and take on board their advice. An Instructor’s advice is more likely to be correct and up to date than that of friends or family - no matter how well meaning. Your Instructor is also the best person to advise you when you’re ready to take a test.

7; When you have passed your test please remember that a test pass means that you’re safe enough to continue learning on your own. It takes years of experience to become a truly good driver, so never assume that you’re the finished article.

We never stop learning, nor should you.

Hi all, still no settlement, still got car on drive and I'm so sorry. e mailed markerstudy insurance last week, "No answer" e mailed again today so we'll see, For a "None fault accident" they sure drag their heels :-(
That asside, let's talk about the benefits of "Echo driving" :-)
What do we need to do? to drive echonomically? Scanning the road ahead LADA / Look, Assess, Decide, Act. Road position, make sure you pick up position early using MSM-PSL routeens.
SO! How does THIS save fuel??? wear and tear on brakes and disks and of course, lesson your emissions and your carbon footprint?

Hi all, Well, You all know what happened a month ago and YES!!! My car has STILL not been collected by insurance group after they written it off. I can only suggest that you please try and find an Instructor who will take you on to continue your traing and beyond, I really do not want to hold anyone back from moving on. I know some of you have already started again, so to you guys, do good and move on quickly eh :-) So the rest of you , please, try and get into a school and keep going ;-) Life goes on and so should YOU.
Keep an eye on the page of course as I will still be putting questions up for you and giving you food for thought.
I'm so sorry this has happened and for me! It may not be viable to put a new car on the road due to the fact, I would lose too much within 18 months due to high mileage. "Bit of a catch 22" I'm affraid.

JUST because I'm currently off work!!! Doesn't mean, "You get away with it" ;-)
Some questions I usually ask when your driving around :-) some! Out of the ordinary, but that's about knowledge and awareness ;-)
1/ How do we spot potential hazards early?
2/ 2- “When would you know it’s safe and convenient, to signal? Or put head lights on? ---- How could your lights effect other drivers’ thoughts?
3/ How do we help others around us in making decisions? “Influence others”.
4/ 4- Meeting traffic safely!! Where can we get help from when meeting traffic safely?
5/ How can we make "Q"4 happen?

Well guys, got notification from Insurance, that my car has been "Written off" :-(
Not sure as to what I'm going to do as yet, all you get is book value for your car when they do that and a new car is upwards of 22k for what I'm requiring, if I can get a suitable second hand, I will do so, but putting a new car on the road for final 18 months, just dosent compute when you take into account the mileage a year we put on them, would be losing such a lot agian at the end.
I'll keep you up dated, I'm looking for someone to step in at the moment to keep you guys going, so sorry this has happened for you all :-(
