Renault twingo 133 rs lovely little cars if you know me (luke)!
I love a renault hot hatch !
I have also worked at renault! And own a few 🙈.
This little one came in for rough runing and also an mot.
Unfortunately it failed on the emissions high c0 reading.
Using our knowledge of these little renaults I could see on live data the timing was out!
The customer had a timing belt done last year and it hasnt been set correctly effecting emissions and lumpy poor running!
After resetting the timing correctly with the genuine tools Unfortunately the emisson catalyst has been damaged due to the timing being out for so long!

Sorry for the lack of posts we've been really busy lately.
Vauxhall combo van in for eml light diagnosed as blocked egr cooler which had also caused the dpf and scr to let soot past due to ingesting sludge from the leaking egr cooler!
Engine out job and still abit of a pain to do!

Anyone that thinks mechanics just plug in a computer to diagnose a problem are completely wrong!
This car had No fault codes ! using live data we could see the timing jumping around on cold start ! Causing intermittent lack of power.
How can this be the timings fixed by the cambelt this is why !

Vw 2.0 tdi engine in for a crank seal oil leak.
these wet belts are fitted to every make and model even vans look at the wear on this wet oil pump belt!
Only on 100,000miles good job we did it as the belt was thin and breaking up and it was the original cambelt.
We recommend this wet belt being replaced if your car/van is on this sort of mileage !

Do you own a 4 wheel drive Audi Volkswagon Seat Skoda?
This is why adding on a haldex service is recommended .
Sludgy deposits block the filter and cause damage to the rear differential and haldex (4wd) system
This car had done! 47,000miles 6years old
Also don't forget the dsg oil & filter change if its an automatic.
Even if its manual we would recommend changing gearbox oil ever 60k or 6 years!

One of the most over looked service items on volkswagon skoda seat and audi cars !
Dsg oil changes there recommended every 40,000 miles.
This oil change is Not included in a regular service !
But we will advise it on a service if it has history of the dsg oil being changed or not.
Make sure before booking a service then we can include it in the service for you if it hasn't been changed.
As the pictures show there is a filter just like in your engine which needs to be changed with the oil.
Why change the oil?
to prolong the life of the gearbox by reducing wear as these gearboxs can get very expensive and specialist tools are required to repair.
prevent that with keeping up to date with the gearbox oil changes 🙂 oh and if its 4wd your haldex oil to!
