Whilst down at Bicester heritage on a follow up for the land rover project came across this 959 being photographed as it will be taking part in a tv series in the near future. The owner was good enough to allow me to have a little drive around the compound. Not many would let you drive their 1.5 million pound car having only known you for a few minutes. Epic.

Away from filming this is a project I’m involved with. A Land Rover restoration with a difference. This project is to hold weekend workshops to raise awareness for mental health problems, depression and just loneliness. Over the Saturday and Sunday work on the land rover will be undertaken by people who are suffering and need a different outlook on life. A meal and maybe a few beers Saturday night. It will hopefully be a way where people can get out of the house, meet new friends and do a bit of restoration. No previous knowledge of working on cars is needed. Scan the QR code and register your interest, there is also a link to a just giving page. The workshops will take place at Bicester heritage centre, dates are yet to be worked out. After nearly a year away from any filming I took this commer out at the weekend, was good meeting up again with the action vehicle boys. It was a long day but went smoothly.

I worked out my fuel consumption towing with a 4.2 land cruiser diesel going to London and back. I averaged 20.5 mpg going in and 18.5 mpg coming home on exactly the same route. This explains why it takes less energy to drop yourself in the s**t than it does to drag yourself out of it.

Another day spent filming in London. Got to say each time I go there the place becomes worse. One ways, bike lanes, bus lanes and all cars, vans, lorries etc fighting for a narrow single carriageway. Not a vehicle friendly place now and a nightmare to navigate eespecially with a trailer in tow. On top of that ULEZ and congestion charges, that is about £28 for our land cruiser. Would be more than happy to never have to return to the s@ hole. Kasistan or whatever his name is can seep in his own mess there, the sooner people stop going to London the better, that would kill his revenue and turn the place into an even worse oversized slum.

When you don’t have the right tool to re fit the void bushes, it’s time to cobble one together. Rawl bolt and nut, an old broken pully wheel, part of a lawn mower starter outer casing, the centre from a mini clutch pressure plate and some bits from an angle grinder and some washers. Jobs a good un.

No more projects!!!! Well maybe just one more. 1989 Westfield seven se. This one is for my boy Conner to strip down and rebuild. Have bought it already half stripped. Fun starts next week. I’ve told him if he enjoys getting involved then we will buy another kit car and he can build it for when he is 17 and passed his test.

Had to do some work on this over the last month, some welding and respray, new radiator and expansion tank, new clutch, leather seat covers, now booked for a few days filming.

Had a cracking day out filming Endeavour yesterday, a beautiful house down on the bank of the river Thames with the mk3 Zephyr police car.
