If you've ever chased intermittent rear lights, indicators that work when they feel like it, or mysterious electrical gremlins at the back of your Porsche, this little connector is well worth checking.

Originally fitted across a huge range of classic models including:

After 30, 40 or even 50 years of heat, moisture and countless bulb changes, the original connectors can become brittle, corroded or simply unreliable. The result? Poor connections, dim lights, intermittent indicators and hours spent fault-finding.

The good news is these have finally become available again through Partworks, the German Porsche specialists renowned for reproducing hard-to-find classic Porsche components.

One of the most common upgrades for CIS-equipped Porsche 911s is the installation of an airbox pop-off valve (often affectionately known as the "toilet seat").

In this video, I fit a pop-off valve to a classic CIS fuel-injected Porsche 911. These simple devices can save you from an expensive airbox replacement by relieving pressure during an intake backfire.
