We would like to pass on our condolences to the Pointer family after hearing the sad news that our friend and colleague of over 40 years Alan Pointer has passed away, he will be greatly missed.

It’s been a while, but here is the second installment of photographs showing the various stages of the restoration and repair of both DP115 bodies that we were asked to carry out.

As you can see the distinctive lines of the Frank Feeley design are becoming more apparent as we repaired the various splits and cracks and cleaned everything up. These new photos show how we had to reinstate the Round Fuel Filler “bowl” which involved cutting out the existing square recess and welding in new material prior to refitting the body to its chassis and installing its fuel tank.
It was then a case of mocking up the recess before taking a fibre glass reversal and making a tool for us to set it into.

Both bodies were also missing their distinctive louvres in the rear panel. Using photographs which we had scaled up and trying out samples, we made some simple tooling to space the louvres and then set them in from inside the body. You only really get shot at doing this, or it’s a case of cutting out and welding in a new piece of metal and starting again, which is never ideal.

What it does show is that even relatively small jobs can become an engineering exercise in their own right, having to allow for thickness of metal etc, but they do all add up to make the overall finished body.

We hope that everyone has had a good Christmas and as we now head into 2026, we have been reflecting on some of the projects we have been involved with over the past few years, and whilst we no longer carry out complete chassis and body restorations we are proud of the work we have done and the trust that was placed in us.

Over the next few days we would like to take you back to a particular favourite of ours, not just one but two Lagonda V12 racing cars - DP115.

We were incredibly lucky to have had the opportunity to be involved with these restorations, and whilst we did not have the opportunity to complete both bodies hopefully these photos will show some of the behind scenes work and processes that we did carry out.

On a body of this age where you are looking to retain as much of the original aluminium as you can it can be quite a challenge carrying out numerous small detailed repairs that need to be done but can sometimes be overlooked.

Hope you enjoy the first lot of photos looking at the rear end, wheel arches and bonnet buckle strap recess. The next series of photographs will show the work we carried out on the nose.

On YouTube there is a piece from Kidston Productions called 'The Twins - Lagonda V12 racing cars'

Hope everybody had a Merry Christmas and wishing you all a Happy New Year 🥂🍾

We made an Oscar India bonnet skin for a customer and needed a safe place to put it when it was finished. Think we found the perfect place for it. Bob seems to like it, what do you think?

Hi everyone.
We have not posted anything of late but rest assured we have been busy. Not only expanding our range of replacement parts but also finishing a very extensive re-working of a DB2 convertible together with some progress on our DBS Bob.

Happy New Year to everyone. Hope you all have a prosperous 2025 🎉🥂
