The trouble with wet belts: most drivers don't even realise their car has one until there's a problem with it.

But what IS a wet belt though?

Well, some modern cars have a belt inside the engine that runs in oil. Over time, they can break down and shed material into the engine. If they fail completely, it can lead to serious and very expensive engine damage.

But the good news is we carry out wet belt replacements here at our new workshop. 🎉

This tyre could have failed at any moment…

Recently we've seen several vehicles come in with tyres that were much closer to failure than their owners realised. In one case, a large bulge had developed in the sidewall and the driver had no idea it was there.

A quick visual check every few weeks, and especially before a long journey, can help you spot potential problems before they become dangerous.

Take a look for:

❌ Bulges
❌ Cracks
❌ Splits or cuts

When your car passes its MOT, it's easy to focus on the pass certificate and forget about the advisories.

We get it. Car repairs aren't always at the top of the priority list when money is tight.

But advisories are there for a reason. They're warning signs that something is beginning to wear out, deteriorate or need attention.

The sooner they're dealt with, the more likely you are to avoid bigger repairs, higher costs and MOT failures further down the line.

“Oh no, my engine light’s come on! What does this mean!?”

Well normally, the light it should extinguish as soon as the engine starts. If it’s still illuminated with the engine running, it indicates a malfunction with the engine management system.

Give us a ring as soon as possible and we’ll plug it into our diagnostics machine to check for engine faults.
