Ilminster Classic Vehicle Show

We show over 200 cars & motorcycles assembled on the Recreation Ground close to Ilminster’s town centre.

Along with the Dog Show, live music and other attractions, this is one of the unmissable highlights of the town’s mid-Summer Festival.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for for Classics @ Party on the Park on Sunday 30th August. If you haven't checked the numbered programme you were given on arrival, we suggest you do so now.
Congratulations if you have programmes numbered 007, 068, 074 and 098 - you've won vouchers to spend in local businesses. However, if programme number 076 is lurking in your glove-box, you've won the star prize of two tickets for the Goodwood Revival Meeting on Sunday 20th September. To claim your prize you need to contact [email protected] with proof that you have the original numbered programme.

We're looking forward to welcoming everyone to Ilminster's Recreation Ground for Classics @ Party on the Park on Sunday 30th August. These are the answers to this week's most asked questions:
1. The gates open at 8.30am and while we'd like you on site by 10.00am you can arrive later and leave before the official closing time of 4.00pm. Live music at Ilminster - Party On The Park starts at midday.
2. There's no need to pre-book and we welcome all makes and models of cars and motor cycles, including modern classics. However, we can't accommodate commercial and agricultural vehicles at this show because we use the town's cricket pitch courtesy of Ilminster Cricket Club..
3. We ask for a donation of at least £3 to help us cover our costs (but that includes entry into the prize draw) with all profits going to charity.

Wow, August is here! Only a few weeks ago we were enjoying the most successful Ilminster Experience Classic Vehicle Show and now we're gearing-up for our fantastic second show of the year - Classics @ Party on the Park.

This celebration of Music and Motors takes place on Ilminster's glorious recreation ground on Sunday 30th August. The car show runs from 09.00 with the live music starting at midday.. There's no need to book: just turn-up and while we ask you for a donation (suggested minimum of £3) to help us cover our costs, this includes entry to a draw with many great prizes to be won.

While we welcome all classic cars and motorcycles, including modern classics, we can't accommodate commercial vehicles and tractors at this show because, courtesy of Ilminster Cricket Club, show parking is on the cricket pitch.

This time next week we'll be enjoying the Ilminster Experience Classic Vehicle Show. We're getting lots of interest from classic owners so we hope to welcome 300 or so to Ilminster's beautiful recreation ground. And in answer to the common questions we receive:
1. No, you don't need to pre-book - just turn-up and our friendly marshals will find you a parking space.
2. No, we don't charge an entry fee although we ask for suggested minimum donation of £3 to help us cover our costs.
3. No, you don't have to stay all day although we'd love you to so that you can enjoy everything else that's going on.
4. No, you don't have to bring a picnic because we've got a range of great food outlets, including Harlequin Carnival Club who will be offering a fabulous Ploughman's Lunch (including a drink) for just £10.
5. No, you don't have to leave your canine friend at home because there's a Family Dog Show for them to take part in.
6. No, you won't be bored because there's various entertainers performing throughout the day.

With only two weeks until the Ilminster Experience Classic Vehicle Show on Sunday 14th June we know we'll have lots of interesting vehicles displayed on the town's recreation ground. However, we haven't had as many bookings for club stands as in previous years.
While individual entries can just turn-up without pre-booking, if you're planning to attend as a group or club and you want to be parked together, please get in touch so that we can allocate you a spot.
We look forward to welcoming back old friends and making new ones on Sunday 14th June.

The flags are flying in Ilminster which means Summer is on its way and there's only a month until the 2026 Ilminster Experience lassic Vehicle Show on Sunday 14th June.

Last year over 300 cherished vehicles packed the town's recreation ground and we know from the show's many friends that 2026 event will include some wonderful cars and motorcycles, and the ever-popular fire engines, plus tractors celebrating the 80th birthday of the "Little Grey Fergie".

If you want to join us there's no need to pre-book and we don't charge for entry (although we do ask for a donation to help us cover our costs). Congratulations and thank you to all those observant people who spotted my glaring booboo in the date of the Ilminster Experience Classic Vehicle Show in my last post. The 14th June is when the show will be taking place and that, of course, is on a Sunday, not a Saturday. Other sites stating that the show is on 7th June are wrong and we're attempting to get them corrected.

Thanks to everyone who joined us in the sunshine at Ilminster - Party On The Park on Sunday 24th August. With over 200 cars and motorcycles dating from the 1920's to the 2020's it was a fantastic spectacle and helped us raise several hundred pounds for local charities.
