Congratulations Ashleigh McLaren on passing your driving test first time in Yeovil today with just 3 minor faults. I worked with Ashleigh for just over a month to fine tune her existing skills.

We added detail and safety into her driving and she worked hard to add these to her driving ability. During the test Ashleigh was asked to carry out a reverse parallel park and used Sat nav for the independent element of the drive.

Congratulations Luke Sweet on passing your driving test first time in Yeovil today with just 1 minor fault. A great result for a very relaxed student with a great sense of humour which made our lessons enjoyable.

Luke picked things up quickly and understood our lesson plans and what we wanted to achieve. He had a bright sunny day for his test which included a right reverse manoeuvre and used Sat Nav for the independent part of the drive.

Hundreds of driving examiners to be recruited to cut wait times

Lilian Greenwood, minister for the future of roads, said "no one should have to wait six months when they're ready to pass" their driving test and acknowledged there was a "huge" backlog.

Driving instructors have branded the current system a "nightmare" and expressed doubts that the proposed changes will make any material difference.
