Nicky knows Toby well and I hope and pray he is soon found. He loves walking so could be quite a distance, maybe lying injured or fallen somewhere. Missing since yesterday morning. Please look out for him.

Police are appealing for information to help locate Tobias Berry who has been reported missing from Ilkley.Tobias, aged 25, was last seen in the Ilkley area at 11:25am yesterday, Tuesday 16 April. He is a keen walker and may have travelled to other parts of West Yorkshire, or gone to North Yorkshire...

Yesterday, March 16th was Happy International Driving Instructor’s Day!

In view of this notable day…..I decided that I needed to celebrate the awesomeness of my instructors - so they will all be receiving a gift in appreciation of this on Monday. ❤️

Can you believe that the very first driving test in the UK to be passed was on this day back in 1935, 89 years ago?

Voluntary testing was introduced on 16 March 1935 by the Road Traffic Act 1934. This was done to avoid a rush of candidates when the test becomes compulsory.

Mr R Beere was the first person to pass the driving test, at a cost of 7s 6d (37.5p). 🚗💨

📢 Examiners vote to strike over plans to increase tests per day 📢

PCS (Public and Commercial Services Union) members working for DVSA as driving examiners, and their line managers, have voted to support strike action and action short of strike in defence of their working terms and conditions.

It has been proposed to conduct 8 tests per day in an attempt to reduce the unacceptably long waiting times. However they are not extending the examiners day with more pay (bearing in mind the extra test will bring more revenue!) they are expecting the examiners to reduce their short time between tests to cram in another. Understandably not all examiners are in agreement.😵

This means pupils tests may be cancelled on the day or times moved around! As we try to book all our pupils tests we will be sure to inform instructors and pupils if we hear of any change.🥴

However, the cancellation may not be known before pupils and instructors attend the test centre on the day.
If it does as frustrating as it will be - you can use the opportunity to do a “mock test” so you get the most from the planned session. 🤔

Let’s hope this doesn’t happen but please be aware it may do.
