Supercar Saturday was packed with all sorts of cool cars and a load of nice people who liked talking about their cars 👍🏼 Highlights for me were this stunning restored Abarth 500, and the 812 spider parked next to it. Oh and a manual Ferrari 430 too! 🇮🇹
And a 430 Exige, and and and

I’ve been taking some photos with my new (old!) camera from 1981 using some film from

It’s all still very new as I’ve not used a film camera before, but there were some shots that came out pretty well - especially when I used manual mode.

Anyway, these were shot last month - 35mm film and old cars seems to work really well. And although I was there for the Caterham Grads racing, these old cars blew me away with their noise and their presence in the pits.

This was the best looking car of the weekend for me - just look at it 🔥 All the cars in their grid sounded fantastic especially on maximum attack out of the esses and onto the straight 🤯

I think I’d rather like something like that in my own garage one day…

I made this small gift for the loveliest team I’ve had the absolute pleasure of being a part of:

I did a bit of GIS mapping with Open Streetmap and QGIS to create a shapefile of the track, ready for 3D print once I’d converted it to a .stl file using some Python script I made. Then I did some MapBox stuff to make the map look how I wanted with different colours and widths for different sorts of roads. Then I did a bit of design with Photopea to add text, masking and layout. Printed out the design, printed the 3D file of the circuit. Stuck it all together without slicing my hand open with a Stanley knife (a miracle!).

I was stupidly excited to give it to Ian and Amanda, but look at it! It turned out just how I wanted. I’ve really enjoyed learning how to do it.

I’m not sure I’m going to make any more though as they take a while to make and I already have too many hobbies 😂

I seem to be making all the R8 photos dark and moody. One month in and I’ve found I’m loving just cruising in it at night with the roof down and heater keeping me warm. It’s still an absolute demon and explosively fast, but cruising with some old RZA / Wu-Tang tracks playing feels perfect.

My car is now up for sale with Alpha7 via their website and Race Cars Direct. After two years of racing it feels like the box has been well and truly ticked - it’s been an absolute blast.

Ian is looking after the sale as they know the car inside and out. I’ve added the links to my bio. Someone is going to get a very nice car…

With the season coming to a close, I’ve hung up my helmet and decided it’s time to stop racing. I’ve put my car up for sale (link in bio, it’s a good one!), I’ve sold the trailer and my tow car went yesterday too.

A huge thanks to the crew for sponsoring me this season - you really should check them out if you need a brilliant accountants - they’re lovely and I’ve been with them for three years so far. And a massive thanks to - it was a total surprise to win the Martin Kay trophy, it meant a lot to me but now it’s time for someone else to be awarded it.

“But why stop racing, Mark? Wasn’t this your childhood dream?” I hear you ask. Well, I’ve kinda lost my racing mojo, and although I’ve got much quicker this year and I’ve nailed my race starts - it’s started to feel like I was going through the motions so I figured it was probably time to call it a day.

BUT, all is not over. I’ve made some really good friends with all the team and my fellow drivers not to mention the rest of the grid, rival mechanics(hah!), chefs, and well, just about everyone really.

So, I’m super grateful and really quite honoured to be asked to a BRAND AMBASSADOR for Alpha7. I’ve already posted some videos on the channels that captured the weekend and am loving it - check em out…

Massive thanks to Ian and Amanda for inviting me to take on this new role. This is going to be fun…
