Todays Rider Spotlight is on: Phil “Brownie 98” Brown

Guaranteed to hate me for writing this so all the more reason to shine a light! Master tactician, brutal on demand and totally fearless. Phil has a vast wealth of knowledge & experience on two wheels accumulated over many years and someone who will find any excuse to pin on a number to rip it up with the best of them. On the flip side of that he’s also happy helping total beginners navigate the track and road for the first time.

He’s had a busy season, racing and supporting others to succeed: -

- 24 races under British Cycling on the road & track
- 3 podiums and a top 5
- Domination / disruption! of the DATL
- Podiums & numerous successes piloting the Derny for talented riders, up and don the country
- Many epic lead outs for team mates and regular orchestration of wins and podiums for the team

Phil organises regular weekly training rides for the team and is a source of encouragement for all. He provides advice, sacrifices his own goals for others, relentlessly takes the p**s to keep moral high (all good!) and always straight down the line on all things.

Qualified as a Derny pilot and owner of an old school machine, there's been a fair few memorable evenings this year with the team strung behind at 35+ mph.

Looking forward to 2026 already with big plans to continue to galvanise the team and win big together.

The Clarke family have had a seriously successful couple of weeks, with Dad (Big Rich) picking up three class medals at the 🌈Worlds Masters Track Championships recently:-

And laying down the gauntlet before that was Ben, on impressive form at round 1 of the British National CX Championships bagging a a quality result at Moorways:-

Todays Rider Spotlight is on: Josh “Flying” Kite

A quality rider and credit to our team. Josh is skilful and determined with a great work ethic, sticking to his plans and committed to all the required work needed to go fast on two wheels!

Josh has a positive attitude, a friendly character and great to have around in our paddock.

Travelling the length and breadth of the country to race against the very best young cyclists in the UK, Josh is climbing the tables, putting out some fanatic results and is continually improving by the week.

Team out in force at Mallory Park last night with 3 of our lads in the top 10 following a
gutsy and very well executed lead out from Euan.

Things are starting to come together with good momentum now and growing spirit.

Thanks to the organisers for a great night of racing and top venue.

Today’s Rider Spotlight is on: Ben “Blazing” Clarke.

Ben is a young gun with a very bright future and is a credit to the team both on and off the bike. Ben loves the sport and participates across all disciplines finding any excuse to get out on his bike and pedal two wheels as fast as he possibly can! This involves dedication, commitment, early starts and travelling up and down the country most weekends to race against the very best in the UK.

Ben is a modest and unassuming young lad, but as soon as the flag drops for the start of the race, he is totally fearless and will give his all to compete and win, often going right to the very edge of what’s possible - and with absolute confidence in himself.

Speaking of being on the edge, I think most of the riders in the adults squad feel that they are on the edge too, hanging on to his wheel for dear life, as he rips round the RSQT early doors most Saturday mornings. (And on a relatively tiny gear!)

Report from the race last night.

Fun packed race with some good racing and strong riders. 5 strong IVRT on the start line with a plan of Jack and me looking for BC points.

Attacks and counters were tried, but with strong riders and the terrain, they were brought back pretty quickly.

Into the final lap, a wide spread of riders into the final esses before the climb sprint to the line.

Browny leading me out but with the door closed by others left alot to do for the line. 9th place.

Jack cruising the wheels and found himself 1st or 2nd in the final gallop just being pipped by a few at the line. 5th place.

Quality showing from the team and well respected in the group.

Todays Rider Spotlight is on: Spirited & Speedy - Sarah Seal.

A valued member of the team, Sarah got off to a great start to the season and turned up when it really mattered to accumulate some impressive results against a bunch of quality riders in her field. Currently studying for a masters degree and working towards a successful career in eduction, she can already teach the team a thing or two about going fast on two wheels!

Sarah is great to have around, with a sharp and witty personality that keeps the motivation levels high and a willingness to get stuck on and give it her all. Exams and focus on honing skills for her profession are currently a priority with a big year ahead and I know she’ll be itching to get back racing into the summer calendar and autumn / winter track races.
