Hi all - meeting to discuss the proposed Rugby Club development for local residents on Monday 8th May at 730pm at the Thatch pub.

At present plans include a new clubhouse on Brimlands/Larkstone with a capacity for 500 people to include a function room, bar, gym, media room and changing facilities. This is built into the bank and is 2 stories from the back and 3 from the front (looking from the pool).

The proposal also seems to include cordoning off Brimlands (apart from the play park) so no dog walking or rounders games :(

Also proposed is flattening an area of land outside the swimming pool as another sports pitch which means the loss of more dog walking areas.

Please come along to give your views - if you're not able to come but would like to comment on the plans please go to www.northdevon.gov.uk/planning and type Brimlands into the address - you can support/object in the comment box on there.

Any questions - just drop us a line at [email protected]

Just to add, many of us support the proposal in general but are concerned about due process and other elements which could seriously impact on the quality of life of local residents. We just want to make sure that the development bears everyone in mind.

Kids found an alternative use for the 'swings' today. Grass is nicely cut though.

Name and shame these two irresponsible female dog walkers?

Today at 0650 they let their dog poo on the football field and walked away! They definitely seen the dog doing it, and I did shout out my bedroom window to also let tell them know but they carried on and walked off!

It is a community field where kids and adults play sport on, so if your dog does take a dump on it pick it up! 😡😡😡😡
