So a thing happened yesterday. After 3 years of stress, anxiety, loss of earnings, damage to property my personal and business names, I finally went to court to pursue the prosecution of my stalker. I've had to fight every inch of this journey. Only 1% of stalking cases actually result in a prosecution and 50% of the individuals prosecuted go on to offend again. The statistics are dia! However, my case never actually made it into the court room yesterday as he pleaded guilty when he got there. There's been a lot of media attention regarding this subject recently and given my own experience, I'm not surprised the figures are so low. Right up until the last minute, the prosecution tried to fob me off with a restraining order, making it feel trivial. It's not trivial, this should not be happening! Thanks to everyone that has supported me through this and especially Bev Cavanagh for being the star witness.
