Congratulations to Adam on becoming our newest MOT tester !

Adam has been with us since he was 15 and has become a very competent and knowledgeable technician and an extremely valued member of staff.

He started as a work experience boy, then when he left school joined us full time as an apprentice passing his level 3 with a distinction and now he’s passed his mot testers course.

We couldn’t be more proud of him, he’s such a hard working and loyal member of our team and the praise is nothing less than he deserves!

We must also heap praise on our training partners MOT Learning Services & Consultancy without them life would be much harder.

Ian & Pete are always at the end of the phone for advice, and provide all our ongoing training, and should take credit in training all our testers to such a high standard.

We’re looking for someone reliable that can add us to their rounds and give us a regular visit at home in Pease Pottage.
Lawns, hedges and strimming etc.

We thought we’d ask our customers first, but also if you could recommend anyone please get them to contact us too.

***SERVICE UPDATE****

The Autumn/Winter rush has hit us like a freight train and our amazing staff are doing their very best to keep up with demand !

We are now currently booking MOT and routine servicing 2 weeks in advance, and the workshop is also at capacity!

We send out our reminders 6 weeks in advance, so can we please ask when you receive the first reminder, call us and book it, if you leave it until the week before you will almost certainly be disappointed!

We will obviously do our best to accommodate breakdowns and emergencies.

As always we thank you all for the loyalty and trust you show us, and your continued custom.

Full Time Vehicle Technician/MOT Tester

About the business

Candidate requirements

We carry out MOT's servicing, diagnostics and repairs on all makes and models of vehicle.
We are looking for an experienced level 3 qualified vehicle technician to join our team, with at least 3 years’ experience,

Hybrid/electric vehicle qualifications would be an advantage, but not mandatory as further training can be provided for the correct applicant.

We have a fully equipped workshop with the very latest diagnostic equipment and use a industry leading digital dealer level management system, we will offer the correct applicant regular training opportunities, keeping you at the sharp end of the latest technology.

If you are a professional and enthusiastic technician with high standards of service, who takes pride in their work and feel you could fit into our business model please do get in contact.

We would also like offer the outstanding candidate an opportunity to carry out their MOT tester training and exams (after a qualifying period) enhancing your own qualifications with no expense.

This is a full time position, Monday – Friday 8am-6pm (5pm finish on Friday)

Nissan Qashqai timing chain noise.

Another very common job we’re seeing is the Nissan Qashqai rattling timing chain.

This is caused by the tensioner failing, normally bringing on the engine warning lamp, a very noisy engine, poor running, and in worse case scenarios causing complete engine failure.

A relatively straight forward although lengthy job, involves, chain, tensioner and guides being replaced.

Ford Ecoboost Engine

We’re now seeing a lot of these engines coming through needing a timing belt replacement, long before the manufacturers recommended replacement interval, mainly due to the belt degradation and blocking the oil pump resulting in critically low oil pressure.

HM Queen Elizabeth’s II State Funeral
19th September 2022

Following the recent passing of our Monarch, New Street Garage will be closed as a mark of respect.

All of our bookings for that day should now have been contacted and rescheduled for another date.

Once again we’re seeing the knock on effect of the covid mot extension and demand for mots has gone through the roof !

If you have an mot due in the next six months we highly recommend booking with plenty of notice.

Our lead times for mots is currently around a fortnight and we expect that to increase as the year progresses.

Plan ahead and don’t be that person that is phoning round every garage desperately trying to find an elusive mot slot !

It was an extremely sad day today at New Street Garage, as we said farewell to a much loved and valued member of staff, as he moves north with his family to start a new life in Leicestershire.

We will certainly miss him and his confident bubbly personality along with his cheeky sense of humour !
The workshop won’t be the same without him 😢

So I’m sure you will all join us in wishing Andy Chadwick and his family all the very best for the future.

Thankfully it’s only farewell and not goodbye, as he’ll be popping in from time to time and will be in the office again in December whilst we are away on our holidays!
