I would like to let all my amazing customers know that I will be retiring on the 10th of September. Originally it was going to be the end of August but I have a few jobs to finish off. I want to express my thanks to all my loyal customers for their support over the last 9 years. What was supposed to be a venture to steadily wind down to retirement, turned into a fabulous little business.

1998 Jaguar XJS front spring change. Had to make “special tools” to avoid the possibility of losing teeth and balls if the spring let go 🫣. M20 stud through the centre of the spring, spring platform and an M20 nut at the top of the chassis. A flat plate fitted with cap head socket screws to locate the plate into the spring platform. Small piece of scaffolding pole cut to correct angle for the spring platform. Flat thrust bearing between scaffolding pole and nut. 3 lengths of 38” UNF studding screwed into the bottom suspension arm to allow the spring platform to slide down (and more importantly back up again) whilst staying in line.

This was a little teaser. Mercedes SL stuck in park! Fabulous engineering making a lock lever from plastic. Replaced with an aftermarket aluminium part. Bit fiddly with old, fat fingers 😁. All back together and works a treat.

So this was a little teaser from a new customer. Main cutter bolt on an expensive lawn mower had snapped. Who ever thought it was good idea to use so much high strength thread lock should have his butt cheeks stuck together with super glue! **b.

Not posted for a while. Had a busy few months. Had another couple of classics in recently. Beautiful MG C with horrendous brakes. Neither servo was working so fitted new units. Original Girling units no longer available so had to go with Lockheed replacements. Needed quite a bit of modification to the mounting brackets to get them into the small spaces available. Brakes now working as they should.
Stunning P5B Rover, front window regulator replaced and a new radio fitted. As beautiful inside as it is on the outside.

Been an MG day today. MGC in for some project TLC. Midget in for a clutch issue which required the engine out to sort the problem. All back together and drives like a new car again
