Another problem diagnosed, repaired and one more car back on the road! 👨🏽‍🔧

This Vauxhall Corsa came into us with a rattling noise, so we carried out further diagnostics to get to the bottom of the problem.

🔧 Timing Chain Replacement – We discovered a failed timing chain guide rail, which was causing the rattling. The timing chain was replaced to get everything back in working order.

🌡️ Thermostat Replacement – While carrying out the timing chain job, we also found a broken thermostat, which we replaced at the same time.

Another garage recently replaced the engine for this customer.

Unfortunately, the engine wasn’t properly inspected before installation, and we’ve now found that the bearings are starting to fail.

The customer is currently saving towards a full engine rebuild, using quality parts to get it done properly.

Another job completed at Wrench Works Garage!👨🏽‍🔧

This Ford Kuga came in for some much-needed maintenance at 125,000 miles, having never had its timing belt changed.

🔧 Timing Belt Replacement – Timing belts are a vital part of your engine, and replacing them at the recommended intervals is essential to help prevent costly engine damage.

🔧 New Drop Link Fitted – We also replaced a worn drop link to cure an annoying knocking noise and get the vehicle back to driving as it should.

This one was a little concerning.

The customer came to us after being charged by another garage for a wheel bearing replacement the week before.

When we removed the bearing, it was clear that the original bearing was still fitted.

The customer had paid for a repair that, based on our inspection, had not been carried out.

Always use a garage you trust, and don’t be afraid to ask questions about the work being done.

This vehicle was recovered to us after a starter motor failed just a few days after being fitted by another garage.

Once we inspected the failed starter motor, we found damage to the casing, which appeared consistent with the starter having been forced into position rather than removing the necessary components to create enough room for a correct installation.

This resulted in a failed part, an unnecessary breakdown and another repair for the customer.

Sometimes, taking the extra time to do a job properly can prevent a much bigger problem later.

Looking for professional, reliable mechanics who will get the job done correctly? We’re the garage for you!
