Following the success at Rétromobile of our 92F, the first new Crosslé race car in a generation, we're delighted to be prominent in Autosport this week.

For many, the European race season ends with Les Deux Tours d’Horloge, a unique 24H endurance race for historic sportscars run by VdeV at Circuit Paul Ricard. In 2025, for the first time, this included two Crosslé sports racers.

Xavier, Christian and Gislain shared a 9S Zetec, Lionel, Florent, Maxime and Romain fielded a 47S Sports 2000, both developed for endurance racing and supported by well-prepared teams.
Both cars were still competing after 24H, a tribute to drivers and teams. 9S showed good pace to lead initially, but mechanical issues (quickly repaired) meant 24 pitstops in total and 315 laps completed. Tyre rules hampered lap times, but 47S ran a steady pace with 16 pitstops over 343 laps. Drivers and teams did an excellent job.

Overall, a fabulous event and a terrific learning experience. Potential to be further developed!

Before the dust settles on an epic weekend of racing, congratulations from all at Rory's Wood to Mark McKenna on a well-deserved win in the Carl Hamer Trophy race (for pre-1981 FF1600) at the Walter Hayes Trophy meeting at Silverstone. Coming a week after his victory at the FF Festival at Brands Hatch, Mark and his Crosslé 35F have had a season to remember!

This weekend, family and friends share in thanksgiving for the life of Rosemary Crosslé who died last Sunday 16 February 2025. She was 88.

Rosemary and John co-founded the Crosslé Car Company as newlyweds at Rory’s Wood, their family home and adjoining factory near Belfast. The early years were tough, but business grew as visitors from far and wide delighted in Rosemary and Johns’ hospitality as well as innovative race car designs.

While John built cars of international renown, Rosemary raised a young family and grew a tiny firm into a global player. A pioneer among female executives, her determination and rigour were legendary. Without Rosemary, as John often said, there would be no Crosslé Car Company.

For two decades from the mid-1960’s Crosslé racing cars swept all before them, particularly in the USA where race winners and schools valued their performance, quality and factory support. After retirement in the 1990’s Rosemary and John guided and encouraged the unique company they created, which continues today in its original surroundings.

Rosemary’s passing marks the end of an era, leaving a proud heritage and many happy memories.

To son Henry, daughter Caroline and grandson Sam we offer sympathy and gratitude.

For those who missed the video, a few stills of C5/S64/13 at the Rotunda of the Royal Automobile Club, London, where this beauty was displayed until Monday 05 February. First driven (in jacket and tie) by Brian Nelson with Daimler V8, this car was extensively developed in period with US V8 power and remains a favourite at Goodwood. Thanks for the photos Matthew.

Happy 90th birthday from all at Rory's Wood to the amazing Tommy Reid.

Another remarkable achievement in a long career of remarkable achievements, covering some of the most memorable (and risky) periods in motorsport and recreation on land, sea and air! You are an inspiration and we take our (race) hats off.

Here Tommy reduces the Bishopscourt lap record by 1.6 seconds in 1965 with Mick Mooney's Crosslé 8F (photo by Esler Crawford).
