Had a little time between lessons. Here's a quick example of emerging from a car park that is one way, a left T-junction, left into a side road, and going ahead at double mini-roundabouts.

Questions in the comments field. If you need help learning to drive or reducing your anxiety, I offer regular lessons and longer sessions for those who cannot take a weekly lesson. I also offer tips and help for anyone wishing to improve their driving to an advanced standard (IAM/RoSPA) and anyone wishing to train to be a driving instructor.

Message me privately for support. The standard of driving in this video is in line with the knowledge of requirements for a Category B (car) learner test, ADI part 2 test, and in line with advice from The Highway Code. By this, I mean that with reversing, etc., it is slow, under full control, and well observed.

Images from videos may be perceived differently than to the human eye.

You’ve probably noticed it drivers of all ages sometimes drift out of their lanes or skip roundabout markings, as if the rules are optional. But lane discipline isn’t about perfection; it’s about making the roads safer and less stressful for everyone. When drivers pick the wrong lane, it can lead to confusion, hold-ups, and even collisions—no single driver’s needs come before others.

Here at Swindon Driving Lessons, we believe that knowing why proper lane use is so important helps you approach even the trickiest roundabouts with calm and clarity. Whatever your background—nervous learner, returning driver, or someone who learns differently—our lessons are tailored to your needs to help build genuine, lasting confidence behind the wheel.

By breaking down complex layouts, mastering the MSM/MSPSGLADA routine, and developing solid forward planning, we show you how to read the road ahead so you never feel rushed or caught out. With clear guidance, patience, and techniques that fit how you learn best, you'll gain the skills to navigate any roundabout or junction safely, smoothly, and with total peace of mind.

🚗 A quick steering demonstration

Here I’m manoeuvring very slowly on loose gravel.

Dry steering? Not a problem in a modern car. Avoid it when practical, but if it’s necessary, it’s fine.

Crossing your hands? Also fine. There’s no requirement to keep your hands fixed — what matters is that you maintain safe, smooth control of the car.

Notice the light grip on the wheel rather than gripping it tightly.

Simple message: stay relaxed, steer effectively and remain in control.

Everything that is wrong with our roads these days (attitude) i had a negative comment recently saying nothing happened (or thereabouys) I am a driving knstructor I am commenting from the point of what should be done, morally and legally not what people do!.

I often take a look a some of these nagative comments and see what nonsense they say etc, the only thing wrong wirh this video is the OP saying the car does it deliberately they wouldn't expect in that traffic a high speed filter, who would on the public road its completely irresponsible.

The dagerous driving here is in the throttle of the motorcyclist.

Why are so many people on social media triggered by the opinions of a driving instructor/driver trainer these days, I always post based on advice given in the highway code, driving essential skills and know how it looked since I was there and also how it compares on the camera, it literally did drive over where the pavement would be.

If you are looking to pass your driving test, train to be an instructor or pass an advanced driving test I can help, the typical commenter can not.

All we are doing is pulling over doing a parallel park in a 20 MPH village with tight roads and they just can't wait just a few seconds.

Here we have a genuine Swindon driving test route clip driven in 2026 by an actual Provisional Licence holder taking their test at the Swindon Driving Test Centre.

I then filmed the exact route driven with a POV head cam so you see exactly what the driver is looking at mirror checks, shoulder checks, and hazard scanning in real time you'll be able to see steering inputs, use of indicators and other signals, pedal work (clutch, brake, and gas) I include at many points commentrary.

Throughout the video I've added on-screen hints, tips, and advice as an experienced ADI (Approved Driving Instructor) — covering hazard perception, road positioning, junction awareness, and the small habits examiners are actually looking for.

📍 Route covers: West Swindon to Purton, Lydiard and back to West Swindon
