RIP
Chris Haw, and 15 yr old
Tadhg Callaghan Carter

Evening folks a bit early but under the circumstances it’s a bit short
Dark day for rallying yesterday when a young spectator was killed on SS12 on the Donegal International Rally, apparently he was one of 3 spectators who were hit by a competitor the other 2 were taken to Letterkenny’s Main Hospital where they remain
The event was immediately stopped and the rest of the event was scrapped as a mark of respect
Undoubtedly this accident will be investigated fully by MSI and the police but I fear the outcome will not do rallying any favours
Of the 2 CCC competing cars at the time if the event being stopped

IAN PARKER navigating for Gordon ( Montana ) Morrison in the 2.5 MK11 Es**rt were 51st overall and 16 th in Class 14

GREGG LITHGOW and CHLOE FLEMING in a 2.0 MK11 Es**rt were 95 th overall and 16 th in Class 13

Meanwhile in Dunoon on this years Argyll Rally of the 5 Coltness cars who started only 2 finished they were
CHRIS LEES navigating for Alexander Vassallo in a Fiesta Rally 2 were 5th overall and 4th in Class 1 and 2nd Protyre Chp points despite a excursion through a fence in the later stages

CAMERON DUNN out with Micheal Harbour in a 2.5 MK11 Ford Es**rt were 20 th overall and 5th in Class 3

EWAN LEES alongside Ian Forgan were doing ok but on SS8 on Saturday morning they suffered a light roll sustaining slight damage but the windscreen was smashed so they were unable to continue (rules)

BOB ADAMSON and HARRY STUBBS in the Polo R5 are on the results list as SS12 retired with a broken exhaust

RICHARD OGILVIE out with Stevie Black in a Peugeot 205 are on the results as retired before the last stage

Chris Leesas mentioned in another post had gotten Stickers made remembering Chris Haw who sadly passed last week

Gone but not forgotten Chris, and CCC send our condolences to the family and friends of the young lad who sadly passed in Donegal

Morning People with yesterdays sad news of the passing of Chris Haw beginning to sink in, Chris would have been the first to agree that the show must go on

And it does, with 2 tarmac events this weekend with CCC participation, firstly
In Donegal it’s the Donegal International Rally with 20 stages over 3 days covering 260 km and a massive entry of approximately 230 cars from all over
Coltness have a couple of cars in the midst of it

Morning all, like the rest of the Scottish rallying CCC were saddened to hear yesterday of the passing of Chris Haw, after a long struggle with cancer Chris sadly reached the end of the last stage yesterday
🏁
A long time member of Coltness Car Club and as mentioned in other posts most definitely a larger than life character, who was always willing to have a blether and a laugh

Sadly another light has gone out in our close rallying family, Coltness sends it’s sincere condolences to Chris’s family and close friends

RIP Sir 🙏

Morning all, a big well done to the National Team on the their victory in the World Cup on Saturday/Sunday

Now for the important stuff sadly as mentioned on Friday EWAN LEES and driver Alan Dickson had to pull their entry on Saturdays Plains Rally due to illness

Meanwhile in Englandshire Team Topp, George and Rosalind had a successful weekend with their SAAB 96 V4 that had been pulled into service to replace their Volvo Amazon which teas new diff, on this years Hero Challenge 2 Event, after being moved into a larger class with the change of vehicle they seemed pleased enough at the finish with 30 th overall and 5 in Class

Well done guys 🏁🏁

12/06/2026

Morning peeps another wet weekend by the looks of it

A couple of events south of the border with CCC participation, one in Wales and one in Englandshire

England first, Team Topp GEORGE and ROSALIND will hopefully have a better weekend on Saturdays HERO Challenge 2 than they did last week when the Volvo suffered Diff failure, Tomorrow the trusty yellow peril the SAAB 96 V4 has been partially prepared and brought back down from Lancashire to Louth in Lincolnshire in time for this event, running at car No 22 in a 70 strong field the event will cover 150 miles consisting of 8 tests and 6 regularities 🏁

Meanwhile in Bala in Gwynedd in Wales it’s
The Plains Rally a round in the BTRDA Championship
it would appear that the Welsh car clubs have the same issues as we have up here regarding forestry availability !!!! the normal 44 miles event has unfortunately been reduced to 36 miles due unavailability of forests it will be ran over 10 stages (5 used twice) , this situation is sadly outwith the organisers control

EWAN LEES will again navigate for Alan Dickson in a Skoda Fabia R5 in C1 in a 100 plus field 🏁

Best of luck to both crews

Thanks again to Ian Buttery for the action shots of all CCC competitors

Meanwhile in Wales at the weekend, I think the Topp’s (George and Rosalind) will be glad to put the whole week behind them

After the pantomime getting their French registered SAAB from France to Lancashire

Then competing on (some of the) 3 Castles endurance rally they missed a good proportion of the event but managed to drag their Volvo Amazon over the finish line to be registered as finisher’s in 51st position

Pictures say 1000 words

George will fill us in on their miss adventures hopefully 😜
