Delighted to say this beauty has just sold to a very lucky owner. Look out for it attached to an artisan wrap wagon at festivals in 2022.

This must be one of the best examples of its kind. And it’s now available for sale.

There aren’t many of these left, and the ones on sale now are either very poor condition or substantially more expensive.

The price is substantially lower than we’ve been advised to expect from auction - but after a year of lockdown we want a quick sale to buy more stock.

Lots more information available upon request.

Mk1 Landrover Range Rover

A little something different has arrived at our garage today. Fully original and very well maintained it’s in great condition with only 100k miles.
It’s also the the much coveted and collectible 3 Door model.

Today I collected a replacement car. But it took six months, dozens of hours and 600 pages of redacted communications.

I’m sharing this because I’m associated with the motor trade yet embarrassed by the contempt car dealers, traders and associated service providers have for their customers.

Cars are our 2ndmost expensive purchase yet when there’s a problem it feels like the friendly service ends when you sign the finance agreement. And it often seems like the motor trade is not held to account by the industry bodies or legislation.

In my case it was not just the appalling service experience that pushed me to legal action but the utter contempt I was shown by the CEO of Porsche and his Tallulah a so-called customer service advisor!

The CEO refused to engage with me and Tallulah seemed to take delight in dismissing me like I was a child.

My response to this was two-fold.

Firstly, I request all electronic data they had. This was ridiculously redacted but told me all I needed to know about their stated position, and their potential position. It also provided me with snippets of internal chatter that showed the CEO was monitoring, and would add flavour to any press release. It also clashed with their eventual legal response.

Secondly, I secured the services of the meanest QC I could find. A self-proclaimed relentlessly hard-b@@@ who thrives on David & Goliath cases.

Though I was planning for court it took one ā€˜notice of intended action’ for common sense to prevail.

Of course, their legal team denied wrong doing, previous agreements and all liability. But after a few polite calls with a local dealer a very positive solution was reached.

I learned three things, which I think are worth sharing.

1. COVID is being used as an excuse for poor service. It is also being used by people who see an opportunity to renege on financial commitments. BUT – this is a global issue and affects us all so does not mean one party needs to take the hit, so don’t!

2. Sometimes you need to patient, play the long game and follow the complaints process. All the while making some noise at CEO level. If nothing else it shows a court that you’ve made every effort to be reasonable – which is appreciated!

3. If one party fails to deliver a paid-for-service, treats the other party as naive or simply decides not to do what was legitimately agreed – then they’ve shown contempt. At that point the normal rules of polite & friendly discourse should no longer apply, and they have paved the way for full bore legal measures.

This made me smile.
Not really the way to do business if you sell cars for a living but I know what he means. I wasted 1.5 days in total with one guy when selling my 911. He wanted me to pay retail rates for his BMW but sell him my car at trade. And when it came to the crunch he couldn’t afford it. Very frustrating but that’s the job.

Another good result for Bethany Norton Clay Shooting. Winning the ladies category and also out-scoring the other members along the way.
Well organised by David Florent as always despite the COVID challenges.

Congratulations to all those who entered the Browning Game Challenge.
We will continue a version of this until the end of the game season, a great opportunity to shoot on the walked up and flush targets.

So despite the tumultuous times my ever-creative partner decided to sell one of our favourite specialist cars. The bmw Z3M. The third almost identical car we’ve had.

And as social distancing is in place the whole process was done over the internet - including a partex for a customer in the North of England.

Interesting times...
