𝟱𝟭𝟱𝗻𝗺 𝗣𝗼𝗰𝗸𝗲𝘁 𝗥𝗼𝗰𝗸𝗲𝘁!🚀

This Polo GT is packing a punch now! With a few stealthy modifications it has been upgraded from the factory 130bhp & 310nm to 𝟮𝟱𝟲𝗯𝗵𝗽 & 𝟱𝟭𝟱𝗻𝗺 - that's a gain of 𝟭𝟮𝟲𝗯𝗵𝗽 & 𝟮𝟬𝟱𝗻𝗺!

Upgrades include:
- JW Automotive GT1856 gen3 hybrid turbocharger
- JW Automotive SeatSport style FMIC and hardpipe kit
- PD Tuning 6PUK clutch kit (it did have an "upgraded" clutch before but it immediately slipped during tuning sadly)
- Ported inlet manifold
- PD150 headbolts
- 2.5" exhaust system
- 4bar MAP sensor
- AEM Dryflow air filter

This is by far the best bang for your buck bolt-on setup on a PD. Everyone who says "1856's are rubbish get a 2260" has clearly never had a healthy well setup GT1856 car, they're brilliant fun and still great to daily drive.

This was one cool old bus, professionally converted to a PD130 engine by Busmeister.

The icing on the cake was tuning to 170bhp - helping this heavy old bus keep up with (and probably overtake some) more modern vehicles.

𝗔𝗹𝗹 𝘃𝗲𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗲 𝗮 𝗰𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗺 𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗲 😁

Whether it's your work van or your track car or anywhere in between it deserves to be treated with the same care and precision when it comes to tuning.

As a bare minimum I follow these steps when tuning a vehicle:
1. Scan the vehicle for any fault codes in all modules, also do a quick under the bonnet check for any obvious issues.
2. Datalog the vehicle in stock form (and check fill levels of DPF etc. if applicable)
3. Check over the datalogs to ensure the vehicle looks healthy in stock form
4. Read the ECU, modify the data, write the first revision to the ECU
5. Datalog again, check data again, write v2, datalog again etc...
6. Final fault code scan and clear to remove any communication related faults due to flashing the ECU.

The whole process can be done with you (the customer) involved if you wish, or we can go for a test drive together afterwards to make sure that you are happy with the improvements.

Great value for your money compared to a "flash map" which are often completed within an hour without so much as a road test.

This Ford Transit had a custom tune today, 4 revisions were written, all very similar power wise - the changes were focused mainly on drivability and where/how the power was delivered. A vast improvement in low end torque and instead of the power dying off after 2500rpm it holds on and delivers plenty of torque throughout the whole rev range.

𝗟𝗲𝘁’𝘀 𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗸 𝗯𝗼𝗼𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗱𝗲𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘀… 😑

I take a £50 deposit for most tuning jobs, this is a non refundable deposit and is purely to incentivise people to turn up for their appointment, it doesn’t actually cover the loss of earnings for the hours of time I reserve for each vehicle (in this case 1 whole day). The £50 comes off of the total on the day of tuning.

This particular customer had been booked in for a month and messaged on the Saturday evening to cancel for the Monday morning. Reason being a family member had been taken ill, a completely legitimate reason I’m sure and I’m 100% understanding that “sh*t happens” and I wish them a speedy recovery.

Sadly he then decided that despite messaging me saying how sorry he is and how I should “keep the deposit” (obviously, that’s the whole point of the deposit) he would report my business account for fraud and try to claim his £50 back. This then froze the business bank account which gave me some extra work to do to speak to the bank and explain the situation etc and after 6 hours I finally had access to the business account again…

TL;DR - booking deposits are non-refundable and bookings cannot be moved at short notice using the same deposit. Please respect this and do not incorrectly report transactions as fraud 👍🏼

𝟭.𝟴𝗧 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗯𝗹𝗲𝗺𝘀… 🤦🏼‍♂️

Sometimes I book in a 1.8T just to remind me why I don’t usually book in 1.8T’s - this one certainly helped to jog my memory! 😆

The car arrived with no lambda sensors fitted (yes you did read that correctly) and some huge leaks from the intake/breather system. All good in the end though! Leaks fixed and a new lambda sensor supplied and fitted and the car was tuned 😎

P.S. - I joke about 1.8t’s but the PD’s are getting just as bad these days sadly, bodged up and brought for tuning requiring fixes which take them beyond the initial time slot which was booked for tuning the car.

Please please please do your best to make sure your car is ready for tuning - I hate turning people away and always do my best to help resolve issues prior to tuning but there’s only so much I can do when I’ve got other cars booked in after yours. 🙂

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝗱𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁... 🧐

Keen eyed viewers may have noticed that this isn't the usual MK1 Fabia VRS we see, it is in fact a mk2 1.9TDI "PD100".

The owner has tastefully modified this one with a JW Automotive GT1752 turbo, PD150 12.9 tensile headbolts, a SeatSport style FMIC, "AL" (asz/arl) injectors, 4bar MAP sensor, and some other little supporting mods.

Unfortunately when it arrived it had a few issues, an oil leak, an exhaust leak, and a boost leak! After these were resolved (along with welding some beads onto the hard pipes to stop the silicones sliding off under pressure, and setting the injector lash) the car went on to make great power! I tuned it sensibly as it's still on the stock 5 speed gearbox. But despite this it handled the power really well!

𝗣𝗼𝗽 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗯𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗼𝘃𝗮𝗹! 🥳

It's not often I get asked to remove pops and bangs when retuning a car - but this owner was sick of them and I don't blame him. The previous tuner had enabled pops and bangs in all driving modes on this MK7.5 Golf R which made for an ASBO drive all of the time!

I started by flashing the ECU back to stock and doing my usual pre-tuning health checks, all was well so moved on to tuning the engine and gearbox. This car had a few mods to help it flow nice cool air more efficiently in the form of an intake, intercooler, and exhaust system. Final figures are 𝟰𝟬𝟯𝗯𝗵𝗽 & 𝟱𝟱𝟬𝗻𝗺 - achieved with a peak boost of 1.84bar, tailing off to 1.5bar. Check the comments for a screenshot of a datalog to see the smooth boost control 😎

𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗲𝗿! 😏

This custom Caddy is the owners absolute pride and joy! It's always a great privilege for me to work on a vehicle which somebody has put so much time, effort and money into... And this Caddy van certainly ticked those boxes! Air ride, custom front and rear bumpers, custom interior and paintjob, the list goes on!

Engine wise this van has a 1.9TDI ARL conversion (changed from the stock BLS engine), stock intercooler, 2.25" downpipe and a JW Automotive GT1856 hybrid turbo. The owners request was to make the van drive nice, not chasing all out power.

No dyno on this one but ended up at roughly 220bhp and 470nm, nice and safe for the setup and perfect daily power for driving to various shows/events around the UK and even abroad!

As always we finished off with a test drive with the customer and it's safe to say he was very happy with the increased performance - smiles all round! 😁
