After 45 years repairing vehicles and plant this last couple of weeks has been a new one on me - the other week I replaced a damaged sump on a DAF CF - a day later a leak appeared around the Allen plug on the side - drained oil and replaced plug and washer filled back up with oil and back to work - next day leaking again - these sump’s are plastic with threaded metal inserts - it appeared the leak was between the plastic and the insert - order another sump and put the first one in for warranty. The second sump turned up missing parts so that went back - fitted a 3rd sump and that leaked after about 20 miles - all these sump’s were pattern parts - fitted a genuine sump from DAF at double the price of a pattern one and bingo - no leaks - so as the saying goes you get what you pay for - I’m glad the customer supplied the parts 😁
