CLINTON'S GARAGE/WELDING...

I do everything from a small repair to extensive welding & fabrication work to all types of vehicles such as motorhomes, camper vans, light commercial, classic & retro cars, agricultural equipment, domestic & leisure items. I am very confident in my fabrication work & I am happy to discuss any ideas etc. The equipment I have does include tooling such as

ess brake.
8ft sheet metal guillotine.
15 tonne press. Sheet metal swager..
4 tonne, 15.9 ft ramps etc. Good range of 8x4 steel sheets, box section, tubing & angle sections in stock. I have always had a very good reputation for DPF & Catalytic converter/exhaust repairs from many places & other garages. This does include modification & or general repair of standard systems, even on motorcycles, machines etc. I always remove all previous patch work and rot. Make new steel replacement sections etc. All my work is seam welded & as a rule, i use a minimum of 16 gauge/1.6mm up to 3mm on jacking points, commercials, 4x4's etc. Painted in 2 coats of 95% pure zinc paint/coating inside & out, then finished with vehicle colour. I myself will always be respectful & discuss faults/issues/status & costings before any work is even attempted/done. I am quite flexible & happy to help providing the timing is correct. No welding quote on a large job will ever be given until the vehicle has been examined by myself & the owner together. Only fair in my opinion. I can do the odd evening & weekend providing its suitable for me. I do think my old school values/ways & true honest fabrication is the only way. Many thanks. Clinton.

To all my customers, old & new — just a quick update.

Out of fairness & respect to everyone, I’d like to make it clear that as of now. .....
i am no longer working fixed hours of 9am ish 🤭–6pm every day.
I’ll be in when I’m in, out when im out.....
I will obviously be there for all confirmed bookings etc.

What i don't do in the daytime, i will do in the evening's.

I fail to see why people do pop in for a chat, I'm hardly interesting nor have i ever got any gossip etc 😅.

Last few days been on with a couple VW T4's.
Inner arches, front arch repairs, replacement outer front sills, rear sill repair.
Chose to also cover with the protective sealer vw, bmw etc use.
Decided to blow some paint over the grey 1 even though i am definitely no Picasso nor do i ever try to be 😬

Doesn't look like £133 does it 😕.175 fibre/sanding discs. Some people underestimate how much consumables cost businesses...

2x T4's & a T5 transporter on ramp today for inspections & quotes.
Customer's present so they can see exactly what is required as that is the only way i will accept/take on work these day's.

2 recommended/sent to me from other garages.
All booked in for welding, remove corrosion etc ✔️.

Another Landrover, this time an ex-military lightweight booked in to replace the rear chassis.

I have no idea where it all comes from.
Booking months ahead.

Must be doing something right 🤝

Now as a few know, i work with a torn lumbar disc etc so heaving these around certainly does make me creak 🙄.
Especially when putting them in place.
They really are quite heavy, especially when alone.

Also chose to do a cost effective repair to the exhaust system.

This is a subject that has been annoying me for several years & i feel it's time i made these points a bit more clear to people as it's so disheartening having good people come to me as there vehicle's are literally beyond anymore patching.
It's not just about the having to do the job again, it's the fact good money has been wasted.

A few points straight from dvla in photo's.

Plus........
Patching by the standard i see these days will buy you 12/18 months.

Avoid buying a vehicle that has just been painted in waxoil/Lanoguard etc.

If rust can destroy ships, machines, subframes, axles etc then that stuff aint going to do sod all. Its purely covering up the crap.....

Now i see alot of previous work, you would be shocked at who has done them too.

This may well be a good thing to ask for, i certainly believe you would be very wise to do this......

If a person offering to do your welding then tell them YOU INSIST ON PHOTO'S OF THE COMPLETED WELDING before any substances at all are applied over it.

Every repair has to be seam welded to a good standard.
It can be spot welded where original spot weld points are.

We all know i try to be light hearted 24/7.

Rebuilt that & a very thorough examination of the rest which included sanding down & painting all.

Made exact from the front sill, complete sliding door area, right back to rear arch/wing as it gets wider from front to back.
