It amazes us when every now & then we meet someone in the street who implies ‘with a wink’ that we started the fire that destroyed our business 4 yrs ago! Mostly we let it go because it’s ignorant and unfounded. But for the record...again. We only had public & employers liability. It probably was arson but maybe instead of wasting beer breath on unfounded suppositions think about who DID have something to gain from our businesses destruction! Because it wasn’t us!
Ps. I’m not bitter, and probably shouldn’t be surprised but sometimes I just am. 😕 love 😘

So we will most likely never know who started the fire at our recycling plant. Suffice to say it ‘was’ started, reports of an electrical fault are unsubstantiated. There are many dubious circumstances surrounding events of the 8th Aug 2016. But hey ho life lessens....live for the present not in the past or future, and we do, but, apologies, sometimes little demons pop up and remind us that no official investigation was ever undertaken, leads from us and others were passed off as not worthy of a follow up etc etc. And so for the most part we have moved on. But for those who may know the truth...one day perhaps it will come out...

It’s disgraceful that unscrupulous businesses enable or perpetuate this kind of labour. The employers must be aware that the labourers were working too long without breaks, paid unfairly and housed inadequately. And surely the site owners should have made it their business to know the conditions on their property! If they weren’t aware then they should have been! They are as culpable as Neringa Butkeviciute!! It shouldn’t be all about the money! People are too damn greedy!

One worker started at 5.47pm, finished at 4.17am the next day and was then made to work at another site from 6am to 6.30pm

Council ‘recycling’ centres DON’T recycle, they only redistribute!!!
We don’t have sufficient facilities in the UK to deal with all the recyclables and there’s little or no Gov help for licensed private recyclers. We know this from experience.
We need to know exactly what happens to all our sorted recycling. Until we know that we’re recycling responsibly it’s better that it goes in Uk landfill. Shifting our waste issues to other countries has been going on too long.

Deep in the Malaysian jungle, Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall rounds a corner on a muddy track and is stunned by the 20ft-high mounds of plastic waste looming over him.

LLOYDS BANK - BY YOUR SIDE AND KICKING YOU WHILST YOUR DOWN.
So Lloyds Bank have sued us for the 10k OD we had when our business and livelihood was destroyed by fire. We couldn’t afford legal representation but put up a good fight. In the end we lost because the evidence we needed to prove that a 9 yr old guarantee was cancelled 5 years ago was lost in the fire. We could have faked it but that would have been dishonest! Lloyds may not go by the same moral code.
We can’t afford to pay the 10k + 6k costs and interest so Lloyds have put a charge on our home. BUT that’s not enough for them, the debt will also continue to accrue interest!

Hey ho the rich get richer! 😕

Having recently visited (or tried to) our burnt out site. I can't help but wonder how this massive project would have managed if our business was still in operation. Any ideas?

Hello everyone,. We can't believe it's nearly a year since the fire that devastated our business and livlihood. Just to let you know that whilst it may have been an unlucky act of God, investigations are still on-going into the cause of the fire. If you have any information, no matter how small or insignificant it seems, please get in touch with us via FB messenger. Thank you so much xx

Help needed! one of the casualties of the fire at our works was a beach buggy which Mark built in his late teens. It was a bit of a special one, totally unique and won a lot of trophies in its heyday. The chasis, although damaged, is relatively in tact and Mark hopes to bring it back to life in time. We hope to remove it from the site very soon and need a safe, dry, secure garage (with electricity) to store it and start a very gradual rebuild. Penzance area or near to. If anyone has an empty, unused garage/work space that we could have on easy terms for Mark to recreate a much loved little bit of history, please contact us by FB messenger in the first instance. Many thanks. xx

Hello all and thank you for your recent messages. Just to update those interested. Re-establishing business at St Erth won't be possible. As you can see from the attached link, the presence of our recycling business would hamper progress of the St Erth Station development plans and we have had assurance that Network Rail who own the land, are unlikely to sanction the rebuild of our business. So whilst we sincerely thank all of you who have rooted for us and encouraged the rebuild, we have to take on a new challenge and find an alternative way to make a living.
We may never know exactly what occurred on the 8th of August 2016 which led to the complete destruction of our business, but we do believe in fate, k**a and looking forward not backward.
We've always said through good and bad times that we have a lot to be thankful for and the support of our fantastic family and friends and the support of our local and distant online friends has made us so much more aware of this. Thank you again to everyone who's sent messages of support and positivity, you really helped us get through a very difficult time. We're truly grateful. Mark and Kathy Bailey ###x
