Today I successfully completed and achieved:

• Instructor Certificate in Safeguarding Children, Young People and Vulnerable Adults – Nuco Training Ltd
• Level 3 Award in Principles of Safeguarding and Protecting Children, Young People or Vulnerable Adults (RQF)

As part of this qualification, and alongside holding an appropriate teaching qualification, I am now able to deliver:

• Level 3 Award in Principles of Safeguarding and Protecting Children, Young People or Vulnerable Adults (RQF)
• Level 1 Award in Awareness of Safeguarding (RQF)

Safeguarding is something I feel strongly about. Driving instructors work with young people every day, often in a one-to-one environment, and having a good understanding of safeguarding responsibilities is essential.

This qualification is another step in ensuring Lloyds Driver Training continues to promote professionalism, learner welfare, and high standards across the driver training industry.

All the hard work and preparation paid off, and it’s great to see him achieve such a fantastic result.

Now comes the next big step – shopping around for insurance, getting out on the road independently, and enjoying the freedom that comes with having a full driving licence. 🙌

Charlie was another learner who could have brought his test forward, but he chose not to rush the process and waited until he felt fully ready. That decision certainly paid off, with an excellent drive and only 1 driver fault recorded. 👏

Now comes the best part of passing… the first thing on Charlie’s list is to get his car insured and head off fishing! 🎣😅

I’m delighted to be speaking at the ADINJC & Intelligent Instructor National Conference & Expo 2026 on 27th September.

I’ll be presenting in the Training Zone on:

“Reading Your Learner’s Body Language”

As driving instructors, we spend hours sat alongside our learners, yet many of the signs that tell us how they are feeling, thinking and coping can easily be missed. Understanding body language can help us adapt our coaching, build rapport and create a more effective learning environment.

I’m looking forward to sharing ideas, experiences and practical techniques that instructors can take straight back into their lessons.
