In July, the Renault 5 was the best-selling EV in the UK, with over 1,800 registrations, ahead of the Kia EV3 and Jaecoo E5. Renault's all-electric line-up now makes up more than half of the brand's UK sales.
The numbers are one thing, but the 5 still turns heads. It leans hard on the original 1980s hatchback for inspiration, from the broken-square vents echoing the daytime running lights to the illuminated "5" charge indicator on the bonnet. Inside, denim-effect upholstery and synthetic leather with contrast stitching keep it well short of feeling budget, whatever trim you pick.
Techno trim manages up to 252 miles of range WLTP from its 52kWh battery, and every car comes with 18-inch alloy wheels, full LED headlights, a heat pump, keyless entry and a twin-screen digital cockpit as standard. 🙌
All this makes it easy to see why it's outselling every other EV in the UK right now.
