Regular servicing is essential to keep an engine running well and for optimal reliability. We serviced a Citroën this week which we hadn't seen for quite some time and this was what I found. The oil filter on the left, from the car, should have looked more like the one on the right. The engine oil has been in that long it had turned to more of a tar-like substance. The customer was extremely lucky to not have damaged the engine.
