Before your driving test, don’t chase the perfect stop.
Concentrate instead on recognising situations early enough to stay in control.
Around Sowerby Bridge, changing gradients, junctions, bends and traffic can all affect how and when you need to slow down.
Your job is to notice those changes and respond appropriately.
Leaving your braking until the last moment can make everything feel rushed. Preparing earlier gives you time to reduce your speed progressively, maintain an appropriate gap and bring the car to a controlled stop.
And remember, if one stop during your test feels slightly firmer than you wanted, don’t dwell on it.
Deal with the next situation in front of you.
Good driving is about making safe decisions consistently — not producing a completely flawless drive.
