VEHICLE DETAILS - It is a 2002 (52 plate) V6 2.5 petrol, automatic. It is what we refer to as a "fresh import" because we have imported it into the UK ourselves and are the only owners that it has had over here, so it is yet to see any significant use on British roads. This Bongo has been inspected to the highest standards, fully serviced, and the cambelt has been changed by our expert, in-house technicians. The vehicle is rust-free, and the underside has been fully steam cleaned and freshly undersealed (with bumpers off etc), so it is all good to face the weather. The wheels are newly powder-coated Mazda RX8 rims, and the tyres are all brand new, with labels still visible. All of the fittings, electrics and appliances in the rear are new, as is the manual pop-top and accompanying tent. The front seats have been re-trimmed to match the Rock N Roll bed and the passenger seat features a swivelling base. It has electric front windows, rear blinds and climate control.

It is priced at £22,495 and will come with a full MOT, a one-year warranty and 12 months' free AA breakdown cover. It has covered just 109,000km (68,000 miles) from new.

This is exactly why we only offer a supply & fit of a fly-by-wire injector pump, rather than simply supplying the part 👇

Although we can never know 100% of a vehicle’s history, we can usually get a pretty good idea of what’s been going on.

As we all know, Bongos aren’t your average motor - they’re a little more special! 🚐 And that means you need to be extra cautious about who you trust to work on your Bongo.

It appears a previous garage fitted an injector pump, but unfortunately, the timing was left out, causing the engine to judder and smoke while warming up.

As you can see, the timing gears were either 5 or 8 teeth out! ⚙️

After some hard work - including removing the engine, gearbox and timing casing - the timing was corrected and everything was carefully put back together.

Now? Turn the key and she runs exactly as she should. 🔑🙌

Lesson taught: always be careful who you trust with your beloved Bongo! ❤️
