🚘 Big Job for a GTI! 🔧🔥
We had this lovely VW Golf GTI in the workshop for some essential maintenance and tasty performance upgrades 💪

🔧 First up: Maintenance
We tackled a few known weak spots on these:
✅ Thermostat housing & water pump replacement
✅ Front suspension top mounts due to worn bearings (that annoying turning noise — gone!)

After refitting the cooling system, we vacuum-tested it as always. This time? No vacuum hold. A quick system check revealed a leaking radiator.

🌀 Installed the R600 intake
💨 Paired it with RacingLine’s silicone intake pipe & turbo elbow

🚗💨 Audi A5 Cabriolet – Coolant Leak & EML Fixed! 🔧✅

This week we had this Audi A5 Cabriolet in with a major coolant leak and an engine management light (EML) on the dash. After stripping it down, we found coolant leaking badly from the thermostat and water pump area, running onto the wiring plug for the thermostat and causing damage to the wiring—which explained the EML fault.

This is a common issue on the 2.0 TFSI EA888 engine, found across the entire VAG range, including Audi, VW, Seat, and Skoda models.

✅ Replaced all gaskets, seals & belt
✅ Replaced damaged wiring with genuine parts
✅ Vacuum tested the cooling system – all good!
✅ Fresh coolant & full system bleed using diagnostics
✅ Road-tested (roof down, of course 😎) – running perfectly!

A full fix using genuine parts, and now this Audi is back on the road with no leaks, no warning lights, and running like a dream! 🚀

VW T6 Transporter Suspension & Brake Refresh

Last week, a customer came in after noticing their T6 was sitting lower on one side when checking the tyres. After inspection, we confirmed the van was running Bilstein B14 Komfort suspension and diagnosed a failed rear spring.

We always recommend replacing suspension springs in pairs to maintain an even ride height, so we ordered the correct set and got them fitted. With the ride height checked and sorted, we also spotted that the rear brakes were low, so we replaced them while the van was on the ramp.

✅ New rear springs installed
✅ Ride height corrected
✅ Fresh rear brakes fitted
✅ MOT completed

🚐 VW Transporter Heater Fix – Stronger Than New! 🔥

Another VW Transporter in the workshop, another deep-dive repair! This time, the customer came to us with a heater that refused to blow hot air. After running diagnostics and checking measured values, we traced the issue back to a failed temperature flap motor.

Unfortunately, fixing it wasn’t as simple as swapping out the motor—the entire dashboard had to come out to access the heater box. Once stripped, we found the motor had seized and snapped the plastic actuator arm. The catch? This crucial part isn’t available separately, even with a new motor or heater box!

No problem for us. We 3D-printed a replacement arm, stronger than the original, and paired it with a new motor. With everything rebuilt and tested, the Transporter is back on the road with a heater that’s better than ever.
