What should you do if a pothole has caused damage to your vehicle?

Follow our five-step guide below!

1) Take photos of the damage to your vehicle and of the pothole.
2) Report the pothole to the relevant agency (usually the local council).
3) Contact CARS to receive a quote for all repair work.
4) Make your claim to the agency.
5) If rejected, ask to see their road inspection reports and check they’ve been following them properly. Then appeal if you believe they’re still at fault.
