When first manufactured back in 1990 this Porsche #944 featured a 3.0 litre 16 valve 4 cylinder engine which was the largest production engine of its time. Naturally aspirated the 944 produced 208bhp and afforded the driver turbo level performance without the turbo lag suffered at the time.

Amongst Porsche puriests, the 944 S2 still remains to this day a highly coverted and collectable car.

In the year this first rolled off the prodution line, West Ham United won their first , the BBC broadcast for the first time and actor famously uttered the line " Zulus thousands of em".

It's very possible that this rare Triumph TR4 which only recently visited our Bush Tyres Grimsby depot for a had been parked up in the car park outside Wembley stadium when the mighty took on in the afformentioned 3:2 thrilling cup final.

Perhaps, the owner met there potential life partner at Top of The Pops during "I Only Want To Be with You", maybe that's where they proposed.

I guess we'll never know, but what we do know is that following a full Wheel Alignment which our skilled technicians performed to this , when they do decide to drive it. The car will feel just like the original engineers had imagined over 65 years ago.

At a glance you can see the pressure within each tyre, the temperature of each tyre and now with the intuitu 2.0 system, the loading the tyre is subject too.

When first registered in 1973 this Citroën soon became known as the Magic Carpet thanks to its innovative Hydro-pneumatic Suspension.

Its hydraulic suspension was revolutionary, and thanks to its self-levelling system it provided sharp handling and a ride quality that was second to none.

In fact, due to the cars incredibly stable ride, in 1970's and early 1980's Television broadcasters such as the BBC mounted television cameras to their roofs and used them to drive alongside horse races to film the action.

The self-levelling suspension was able to absorb the surface imperfections found on the dirt tracks that surrounded the racecourses, creating a steady smooth broadcast quality image that put the viewer right at the heart of the action.

You certainly won't see very many of these on the roads but when you do at least you'll join a very small group of people that have.

This Lotus Cars Elan from 1973 is number 64 of only 150 John Player Special models ever made. Before to***co advertising was banned within the UK, the black and gold colours of John Player and Son ci******es would be seen branding some of the worlds top Motor Sports teams including F1

And it was because of Lotus's 50th win in that this, the commemorative model was released.

Back when this car first rolled off the production line they didn't have sophisticated computerised measuring devices that could accurately measure a cars wheel alignment like we have today.

But what is interesting is given that this car is over 60 years old, the process of ensuring that all four wheels are in correct alignment, forgeting the new measuring technology, hasn't for the main really changed.

What you have here is a very rare circa 1990 tyre taken from a 1.9ltr Peugeot 205 Gti which recently visited our Bush Tyres Grimsby depot.

Back in the late 1980,s early 1990's tyre manufacturers were pushing the boundaries of tyre pattern design in terms of performance and shelf appeal.

They understood how important it was to stand out from the competition. Nowadays the vast majority of tyres look very simular to each other and if you removed the manufacturers logo, you would probably be hard pushed to name who made the tyre.

It was very different back in the 1990's, manufacturers wanted you to fit their tyres as a brand endorsement to your , or , much like today where large sports corporations such as Nike, adidas and PUMA spend millions of pounds each year in an effort to make us wear their branded clothing etc.

One of the reasons tread patterns look so simular today, is partly due to the work of those early designers, as tread patterns developed and wind tunnel and brake testing improved, so did the data they captured. Better data led to more efficient tyre patterns.

Gradually the likes of and to name but a few, with each new tyre refinement found themselves converging on the same tyre pattern albeit with subtle styling differences.
