Foam sealant going on, then a quick rinse. 🫧

It's a simple step in a maintenance wash, but it leaves the paint slicker, glossier and easier to clean next time.

Watching the water bead and sheet off never gets old.

What's your go-to way of topping up protection between details?

Nothing beats watching a good layer of snow foam do its job.

The foam clings to the paintwork and loosens the dirt, so most of it rinses away before a wash mitt ever touches the truck. That means less chance of marring the paint.

Today's job was a Ford Ranger that had seen a fair bit of mud. Foam on, short dwell, rinse off. Simple, but it's the first step to a safe wash.

Wheels are the bit nobody notices until they're done properly.

Foam on, a bit of agitation to get into the spokes and the tyre sidewall, then rinse. Nothing fancy, just the process that gets the brake dust and road grime off without scratching anything.

It's one of the most satisfying parts of the job. Which bit of a wash do you enjoy watching most? 👇

Out with the old, in with the new. 🦈

This Porsche 911 came in with its original factory PPF on the rear arch, and over time it had turned yellow. It's a common thing with older films, and it really stands out against the paint.

Carefully removed the old film, prepped the surface, and fitted fresh PPF using the shark fin shaped piece for the rear arch. Getting the film to sit properly around the curves and edges takes patience, but it's worth it.

Small detail, big difference. Always a pleasure working on a 911.

Wheels get some of the worst of it, so they're worth taking your time over.

Dirty alloy and dull tyre on the way in, clean and dressed on the way out. Simple, but it makes the whole car look sharper. 🧼

Brake dust doesn't stand a chance. 🛞

Sometimes the most satisfying part of a job is the wheels. These Audi alloys came in caked in road grime and brake dust, and the diamond-cut finish was almost completely hidden.

Iron remover first to break down the bonded contamination, then foam, then a proper scrub of the spokes and barrels with detail brushes. A good rinse showed what was underneath.
Brake dust is corrosive when it's left to sit, so it's worth cleaning your wheels regularly. It also makes the car look better. 😄

Every detailer has a graveyard of worn-out brushes, and this one just joined it.

Halfway through cleaning these wheels, the brush snapped.

Tight spokes, a lot of pressure, and that was that. It's a small thing, but it's a good reminder that your tools take a beating, and it's worth checking them before they let you down mid-job.

What's the one tool you go through the fastest? Let me know below 👇

Wheels are the bit nobody sees, but they're probably the most satisfying part of the job.

Brake dust, road grime and a few months of build-up, all lifted off with a bit of foam, some patience and a soft brush in all the awkward spots behind the spokes.

Red calipers back to red, black wheels back to black. 🔴⚫

Watching the purple bleed never gets old. 💜

Iron remover reacting with baked-on brake dust, then a good scrub and rinse. Gloss black and diamond-cut alloys hide a lot of grime in those spokes.

Anyone else stop and watch the colour change?
