Olly Allen (founder of ORA Motor Services) is a multi saloon car champion race driver with a vast amount knowledge and experience in race car engineering to match. With Winter ❄️🌬️💦 just around the corner, now is the time to get your vehicle winter ready.

See below, recommended checklist by the RAC.

FUEL - Keep levels high, try if you can, to maintain at least a quarter tank of fuel or a well charged EV battery, so you don't run out if stuck in winter traffic.

OIL - Check the dipstick. Ensure oil is between the minimum & maximum marks. Top it up carefully, without over filling.

TYRES - The UK legal minimum tread depth is 1.6mm, but it is recommended by RAC to be at least 3mm for a better grip in ice & wet weather. Check tyre pressures when tyres are cold.

WIPER BLADES - Inspect for splits, cracks, hardening or streaking & replace them if they fail to clear the windscreen clearly.

COOLANT - Antifreeze mix - check that coolant level sits between the minimum & maximum marks when the engine is cold. Ensure it has proper antifreeze concentration to prevent block or hoses from freezing & splitting.

ELECTRICS - Cold weather drains power & increases electrical load from heaters & demisters. Get the battery tested if it is over 3-5 years old, or if you notice slow engine cranking.
